Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the chips and the cod or haddock, describing golden, crunchy batter and fluffy chips served piping hot. The curry sauce draws repeated praise, with one reviewer calling it the best they will find, and the homemade tartare sauce earns a mention too. Close behind is the staff, whom several describe as friendly and welcoming, and one reviewer says the owner was lovely. Others name a battered Mars bar, cod goujons and a sweet pineapple dessert, and one reviewer says the shop lists where the day's cod and potatoes came from. Some travel from out of town for it and call it the best fish and chips they have had in years. One regular was disappointed on a recent visit, describing a small, flat, tasteless cod, dry shrivelled chips, a watery tartare sauce and a small portion that did not feel like value for money, though they still praised the service. One visitor was disappointed to find the shop closed on a Sunday morning.

“I had a fantastic lunch here today. The food was served quickly in convenient takeaway containers and it was piping hot. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The batter on the fish was perfectly golden and had just the right amount of crunch. It was a proper, satisfying meal that I really enjoyed. I will definitely be coming back again soon. If you are looking for a great local spot, this place is well worth a visit.”
