Customer Review Summary

The caveats are fairly consistent. Several describe a busy, noisy room, and one calls it cramped. Others note the table arrives bare, with no bread, olive oil or water, which felt un-Italian to them. Desserts draw criticism: one reviewer found the tiramisu a soggy mush of broken-down sponge fingers, and another called the margherita pizza cold, undercooked and flavourless. One reviewer describes food arriving sporadically and, after waiting for the bill, leaving cash on the table and being chased outside to confirm payment. A wheelchair user noted no ramp at the entrance and little space between tables.

“We visited on Saturday at around 2 pm and were pleasantly surprised that we managed to book a table just 10 minutes before arriving. The staff were very friendly and our food was served impressively quickly. We especially liked the option of ordering a selection of three smaller dishes. It is a great way to try several different things, and the portions are still generous enough to leave you feeling full. Between us, we tried two different pizzas, lasagne, bruschetta, beef and chicken meatballs, and cannelloni. Overall, the food was good. Having visited Italy several times, we do have something to compare it with, so although we wouldn’t describe it as exceptional or truly authentic, we enjoyed most of what we ordered. There were, however, a few disappointing details. While waiting for the food, the table felt very bare — no bread, no olive oil, and not even salt or pepper. This felt very un-Italian and took away from the overall experience. We were also served coffee without sugar and weren’t asked whether we would like any. Unfortunately, the tiramisu was the biggest disappointment. It appeared to have been assembled much earlier, as the sponge fingers were so heavily soaked that they had completely broken down into a coffee-flavoured mush rather than retaining any texture. Overall, it is a pleasant, clean restaurant with friendly service, quick food and a brilliant small-plates concept. We enjoyed our visit, but the experience was missing some of the warmth, little touches and authentic Italian spirit we had hoped for.”

“Very Busy sunday evening but quick service and friendly servers, Food was all very average apart from the ribs and the shrimp, Margarita pizza was awful, cold undercook and flavourless Dessert was also underwhelming though the brownie was nice. I couldn't recommend the tiramasu”

“Refreshingly good good, fast service, hot food upon being served, plenty of choice from the menu, very reasonably priced and I hope this stays like this. Will definitely come back again. Seems a popular place. Only feedback is given the …”

“Pretty good in here for a 'chain' pub restaurant. It's popular so booking advised. Service was fast and friendly and a wide range of Italian dishes are on offer in the tapas style. Food was very tasty with good portions size. A noisy atmosphere at times and popular with families. But if you're not bothered by that, it's a pretty good place to eat at reasonable rates.”

“Overall not a bad place, clean, with a large car park but it’s noisy inside. Definitely not somewhere for a date or a relaxing dinner. I liked the idea of the menu with sets of three dishes arranged in three different price columns. But honestly where was the olive oil, bread, or even water on the table when we ordered? Have you ever seen an Italian restaurant where you can’t wipe your plate clean with a piece of bread? I have mixed feelings, so it can’t be 5 stars. That said, the staff were excellent, and the food itself was faultless.”
