About Wildwood Hinckley
Wildwood Hinckley is an Italian restaurant in Hinckley, set in The Crescent leisure complex beside Cineworld and Concordia Theatre, so a meal can fit around a film or a show. The menu covers stone-baked pizzas, pasta dishes, grilled mains, burgers and salads. A Philly cheesesteak sandwich on sourdough, filled with steak and cheese, adds a non-Italian option. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices are on the menu, and the vegan lasagne gives plant-based diners a pasta main. A 2-course set lunch gives midday visitors a fixed-format option. Sides such as chips or fries are ordered separately from mains like steak. A service charge is added to the bill.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, one praising its flavour and presentation, while a steak and cheese sourdough sandwich is also called good quality. Close behind are the tiramisu, though one wanted it boozier, and a tiramisu espresso martini. Carbonara, focaccia with oil and balsamic, and a vegan lasagne described as delicious also earn mentions. Reviewers repeatedly praise the atmosphere and décor, and several describe friendly service and portions that felt just right. The recurring complaint is value. Reviewers say sides like chips cost extra with mains such as steak, the portion is small, and a service charge adds to the bill. One found the peppercorn sauce watery and the chips too salty, and another waited a long time for mains on a Saturday night. A few mention discounted offers, including before 5pm. One diner served regular chips instead of sweet potato fries received an apology, a small discount and an offer to cook the sweet potato fries.

“Came on a Saturday night for my daughter's birthday treat. We had not been here for a family meal so thought we woukd give it a go. Got seated quickly, ordered drinks and they also came quite quickly. Wait for the starters, which we choose garlic bread was around 5/10 minutes but then the wait for the main course was too long, we had been seated for 1 hour when they ariived. Food was lovely and the atmosphere is great but we found the food expensive compared to other pizza pasta places in the area. We would only come back on special occasions because of the prices.”

“Had my first visit to a WildWood today, Hinckley. I liked the place. it was clean, somehow rustic and modern at same time. food looked good, tasted good and the portions were just right.”

“The lemonade was flatter than the atmosphere, the peppercorn sauce was so watery it was practically soup, and the chips were salty enough to preserve a small ocean. Our waitress whispered so quietly that ordering became a test of lip-reading ability. The service was hardly speedy, yet a service charge appeared at the end — presumably for the excellent opportunity to experience disappointment at a premium. Honestly, I’d be perfectly happy microwaving a meal at home. At least there, I know exactly what I’m paying for, and the microwave has better communication skills.”

“I just had an exceptional dining experience that I can't stop raving about! The food was absolutely amazing, with highlights like the Piccante Carne and Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich blowing me away with their flavour and presentation. The service was top-notch; I felt genuinely welcomed and well looked after throughout my visit. If you’re after a great atmosphere and fantastic value, this place delivered on all fronts—can't recommend it enough!”

“We visit here often and it's always a good experience. Food is good, service is friendly and quick, and lovely ambience and atmosphere. We visited for an early dinner on a Friday and the restaurant soon filled up around 7pm. We had Focaccia with oil and balsamic, followed by carbonara and cobb salad. And then Tiramisu and salted caramel profiteroles for pudding. It was all delicious, the Tiramisu could have been a little more boozy though. I've dropped 1 star on two of the categories. Food - the cost of a portion of fries is £4.95 (£5.35 for sweet potato option) which seems excessive. For example, if you're ordering a steak for £21, you then have to pay a further £4.95 for a portion of fries which is not is not huge - I think the price could be improved for this and other such dishes that don't come with an accompaniment, eg the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and the half chicken peri peri. Atmosphere - great, but as I've mentioned in previous reviews, the 2 doors to enter the restaurant are really heavy and have some weird suction of air that happens every time someone enters or leaves the restaurant, which leaves me popping my ears like on an aeroplane which is bearable but a bit annoying. Takeaways are also available and there are good offers to be had on both takeaway and eat in options. We had 50% off our food on this visit (eating in) and have had the same from takeaways in January which is a great saving. Definitely recommend and we will be going back again soon.”
