About Flavours Of India
Flavours Of India is a modern Indian restaurant in Hastings, set at 7 Castle Hill Rd. Thalis form the focus of the menu, and a long list of classic Indian dishes sits alongside them for diners who would rather order dish by dish than choose a thali. The kitchen cooks Indian food across the whole menu. Service runs in the evenings only, with the doors open six days a week and closed on Tuesdays, so dinner is the one meal on offer here.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, singling out the Saag Gosht as unreal and describing spice that is not overpowering. One reviewer recommends the Kashmiri mirch masala. Several call the service exceptional or brilliant, and a small family birthday meal drew praise for obliging staff. Others return for birthdays and anniversaries, and a Friday night takeaway arrived quickly. Complaints about timing and flavour run alongside the praise. One Valentine's Day table waited a long time for two meals in a very cold room heated by a single heater. Another party says food arrived after a long delay and was tasteless and very sweet. A house special was likened to a dish made with sugar instead of salt, and when one diner asked why, the reply was that it is British Indian cuisine. Those reviewers did not find it authentic. One returning customer who had left a middling review earlier says the owner remembered her husband, apologised for the last experience, and had the next order delivered promptly.

“This was probably the worst curry I’ve ever had, tried one of the house specials and I think they added sugar instead of salt, it was as sweet as purée.”

“Absolutely unbelievable, always driven past this without much thought but we've had 2 takeaways here now and it's by far the best indian food in Hastings. Food arrived 20 mins after ordering on a friday night as well. The Saag Gosht is unreal”
