  “Tried Dragon Kitchen the other month as the Golden Cottage was closed. I was a bit wary as it had some bad reviews but the food was absolutely lovely better in my opinion than Golden Cottage, I’ve been back again and just the same very quick and absolutely lovely food.”

  “The food was disgusting. The oil used in cooking was 'off'. Furthermore, Chow Mein is supposed to be soy-sauced, based and flavourful. The dish appeared to be the above but it had no flavour outside of the 'off' oil. Avoid this place! I suspect that its score not being lower is because of the lack of choice Howden. It is probably the worst Chinese I have ever eaten.”

  “I’ve been coming to this takeaway regularly about once a week and I genuinely really enjoy the food. The quality has always been good whenever I’ve ordered, and the flavours are exactly what I’m looking for from a Chinese takeaway. The ribs in particular are delicious and my absolute favourite, they’re the main reason I keep coming back. Everything I’ve tried has been tasty, fresh, and satisfying. I understand that everyone’s experience can be different, especially during busy times, but personally I’ve found the food worth the wait. When people enjoy a place, they don’t always think to leave a review, so I wanted to share something positive and give credit where it’s due. This is a takeaway I genuinely like and will continue to support.”

  “Would just like to echo what the previous review from Rebecca says. Been using Dragons Kitchen for about a year now and always found the food to be well cooked and tasty. I would also include price as being another positive.. significantly cheaper than many other Chinese places locally. This place is a real gem. Well done to the owner's.”

  “Ive visited howden as business trip,I ordered takeout from this chinese takeaway. Unfortunately, the food was extremely awful. The beef curry just like yellow sauce , beef was overcooked, and rice literally cold. Chicken balls was over fried and missing sauces. I couldn't eat it and had to throw most of it away. The lad who taking order wasn't friendly at all. I couldn't bother to ring to ask refund! Highly not recommended !”

  “Ready in the time given (20 minutes). But when we got home I could see straight away the spicy garlic king prawns were not what I ordered - looked like curry sauce to me. I rang to tell them this (he acknowledged that it didn't sound like my order) he said he must have put someone else's order in the bag and offered a free spicy garlic prawns next time I order. After eating it I definitely won't be returning. I counted 7 prawns swimming in the yellow sauce. The 'curry sauce' was the most bland I've ever eaten - it didn't taste of anything. It left a furry cornflour texture in my mouth too. Our egg fried rice did not have any egg in it (not at all nice and fluffy). The prawn toast was overdone and chewy. Our whole order was lukewarm, we had to heat it up in the microwave. What a waste of money. I've no idea how this gets 4.6 rating!”

  “First time trying this particular takeaway. It was ready for collection in the timescale given on the phone when ordering. Food was fresh and delicious and portions were a good size. Would recommend and will be using again.”

  “Up here on a short break. When purchased they had a 4.7 star review so assumed it must be good. However I've got to say it was the most tasteless, unappetising and badly cooked Chinese food I've ever had in my life (I'm in my fifties). Nothing looked or tasted particularly fresh. It was overly greasy and their oil needed changing. We ate around half of it before chucking the rest in the bin. Waste of £18. Can't recommend.”

  “To say we got told this was the best chines in howden we thought we would give this a try. We had called up at 7pm and got told it would be ready for 8pm. Upon arriving I went in to collect my food where I was told at 8:05 would be another 5 minutes. After another 25 minutes I asked how long it was going to be I got a sarcastic response off it is very busy and it was going to be another 5 minute and did I still want it. We finally got our food no real apology for how long it had taken. When we got home the food wasn't really that hot we ended up reheating our 2 boxes off rice . The salt and pepper chicken chunks was so dry and hard as well. For the price we paid definitely don't recommend. And there service definitely don't recommend there wait times at all especially if you have young kids you will be waiting a long time! Even if you walk in and order I feel you will be waiting a long time as one gentleman walked in not long after me and was told 30 minutes for his food and was still there when I felt and was just getting more people waiting around. Definitely will not be visiting again”
