About The City & County
On Market Square in Goole, The City & County is a pub that also runs a breakfast restaurant and a full kitchen, set inside an airy, light-filled building. The menu covers breakfast through evening meals, and the dining room accommodates large groups, with tables that seat parties of up to sixteen. Walk-ins are the order of the day. Drinks can be ordered through an app, and an outdoor seating area extends the space beyond the sometimes cramped interior. Breakfast is served, making it a daytime option as well as an evening one.

Customer Review Summary
Some find the food nice, and one says it came quickly for a table of 16, while others praise the airy building and beer garden. Others report dirty tables, cramped indoor seating and staff who roll their eyes at simple questions, though one notes most staff are friendly. One reviewer describes a veteran with PTSD being treated poorly. Another waited long for food that arrived cold, blaming app drink orders.

“Lovely airy building and a nice outdoor seating area. Food came quick for our table of 16 people.”

“Good service and choice of drinks, nice beer garden a few too many tables in my opinion”
- Andy
“Dirty tables either not cleared quickly and certainly not cleaned. The staff are rude, very abrupt and certainly favouring regular bar propers. When approached to see if our food was ok, we had a small complaint and nothing was done about it, so why ask? Indoor seating is very cramped. On a side note and probably a head office issue, they have no knowledge or appreciation for the Equality act 2010 and the treatment a veteran with PTSD received was nothing more than disgusting! I would certainly advise all veterans to boycott this place.”

“Nice food at a good price, but unfortunately it took a long time to arrive and it was cold. We still ate, as we had waited for a long time. The girl that brought our meal was very pleasant and polite. I think the problem is that a lot of drinks are ordered through the app, but they need to make food the priority.”

“Shame people were blasting crappy music.”
