Quick info
About Shesells Seashells
Shesells Seashells is a seafood restaurant on Harbour Approach Road, set inside a refurbished train carriage on the Harbour Arm. The menu leans into the catch of the day, with shrimp cocktail, crispy fried squid bites and fish platters among the regulars. English wine is offered alongside the food, and a service charge is added to the bill. The team welcomes dogs, and outdoor seating extends the railway-carriage room out onto the seafront. Tables run on a walk-in basis.

Customer Review Summary
Diners praise the seafood, naming the shrimp cocktail, crispy fried squid bites and fish platters, served in train carriages with harbour views and friendly staff. Complaints include a long wait for starters, a far too salty risotto, and a party with a dog turned away as fully booked despite free outdoor tables. One diner was moved indoors unprompted when flies bothered them outside.

“Nice little carriage dog friendly. Risotto was good but far too salty. English wine good but expensive. Never like a service charge added but would probably come back”
- Mike Hopes
“The food was great but we waited 45 minutes for our starters to come out. The staff were obviously embarrassed but at the prices they charge it’s not really acceptable. Waiting staff are lovely though”

“One of my favourite restaurants in Folkestone! In a unique setting in train carriages with wonderful views of the harbour. I’ve been here 3 times now and never been disappointed, food is always exceptional and staff are always very friendly.”
- Aniek Smet
“Really really stunning. View exceptional, food exceptional, service beyond. The level of detail to this place on the harbour is incredible. To the fish plates for platters to realizing the flies were bothering us outside and moving us in without us even saying anything to them. Amazing service I can't recommend enough. Thank you for the lovely lunch”

“Beautiful seafood restaurant in a really cool location. Staff were also so friendly and really nice.”
