Quick info
About Rose and Crown
Rose and Crown is a family-run freehold pub on High St in Flamborought, pouring a selection of beers and wines alongside a food menu. Tables for eating are set upstairs, and a private dining room gives groups a space of their own. The kitchen cooks beef lasagne with salad and garlic bread, and steak and ale pie with chips and gravy. Sunday lunch lets families swap the Yorkshire pudding for extra veg on a child's portion. Dogs are welcome, so the pub works for a meal or a drink with a pet alongside.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the food, and the steak with homemade chips draws the strongest praise, with one diner comparing it favourably to restaurant steaks back home. Close behind are the liver, bacon and onion with mash, a beef lasagne described as meatier than other pubs serve, a homemade fish pie, and steak and ale pie with plenty of gravy. A child's Sunday lunch had its Yorkshire pudding swapped for extra veg, and the cauliflower cheese side was called worth the money. Many describe the value as good and the portions as generous. Staff, including the bar staff and the owner, are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, and several mention that the pub is dog friendly. Reviewers raise no real complaints. One notes the pub was buzzing at dinnertime, and another suggests booking a table because it gets busy. The beer garden has a couple of steps, according to one visitor. Several say they plan to return on their next holiday.

“We booked for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. The food was tasty and the vegetables were fresh. I had a child’s Sunday lunch and asked if the Yorkshire pudding could be swapped for extra veg, which it was. The cauliflower cheese came as an extra side but was well worth the money. Overall a great meal, great service and friendly staff.”

“Great food, good value, great selection of drinks, served by lovely friendly barstaff. The chef wants thanking just the same for the lovely food he is sending out. Do yourselves a favour and get in there and try it, you wont be disappointed. We certainly will, thankyou, dave (nottinghamshire)”

“Popped in at around 5pm for an early dinner. It's a popular pub and it was buzzing, but they managed to find me a table upstairs for food. It worked out well because I wanted somewhere quiet too. Ordered the beef lasagne, really enjoyed it because it's definitely more meaty than what other pubs tend to serve (in my experience). Service was quick and staff were all friendly and kind to me. I would happily come again when I next visit Flamborough.”

“Well I have been visiting flamborough for 6 years and this was the first time dining at the rose and crown.it definitely won’t be the last absolutely amazing food being from Leeds the steak could of been served from any fancy over priced Leeds restaurant and still may not have been as good.the homemade chips perfectly cooked, and plenty of veg and extras on the side.a nice little quaint pub from the outside easily missed but don’t.”

“We have had a wonderful holiday in Flamborough, which has been all the better for the lovely food we had at the Rose and Crown. This characterful pub offers heartwarming traditional pub food that is not only delicious but also well presented and is also very dog friendly. We both had the liver, bacon and onion with mash, which was cooked to perfection. We visited early lunchtime and the pub was quiet but soon started to fill up. The lady who served was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. Highly recommended.”
