Customer Review Summary

The Sunday carvery is the main draw, with reviewers praising the roast meats, trimmings and leeks in cheese sauce, plus generous portions. The pub's own brew gets a mention, and several note it is dog friendly, with meals and treats for dogs. The caveat is a busy, noisy Sunday: one table found the chicken gone, rubbery yorkies and undercooked roast potatoes, and service was slow.

“Fantastic carvery, amazing portion sizes and I'm absolutely stuffed. Dog friendly and was a nice surprise to see meals and treats available for purchase for them too. Staff were very friendly and there was a very relaxed and homely atmosphere. I definitely will be coming again when I'm next up this way.”

“Fabulous carvery, super roast meats and trimmings. Veg perfect and great leeks in cheese sauce. Rang after booking to get into dog friendly seating and wasnt a problem. Friendly staff, constantly buzzing bar. Perfect for a walk with the dog after. Definitely coming back to try main menu. Thanks for a lovely Sunday lunch.😃”

“A Sunday visit for lunch. I booked a table before arriving which was fortunate. It was busy Beers are very good and they even have their own brew. We were a group of four. Our two lunches (carvery) were excellent, nothing to complain about. But our friends who got up for theirs a out 3 minutes later found that the chicken has run out, the yorkies were like rubber and a new batch of roast potatoes had just come out, they were undercooked, ours were just right. Service was a bit hit and miss with staff standing around chatting when tables needed clearing. As it was a busy Sunday lunch time the atmosphere was noisy and crowded, a long wait at the bar. Outside in the garden is a 'shed' with entertainment. And at the back they welcome motorhomes to stay. I can't really knock this place, however our friends experience was totally different. Drinks.... Nice if somewhat pricey. Food..... excellent. Atmosphere....noisy and busy. Service......some good but not all good.”
