About The Acoustic Cafe

On S Melville Ln in Falkirk, The Acoustic Cafe combines a coffee shop with a small guitar shop, with guitars displayed on the wall and available to buy alongside the usual counter offerings. The menu runs from cappuccino and espresso to cheesecake and coffee cake, with nachos and a chicken salad for those after something more savoury. On Thursday nights the room turns over to open mic sessions. The step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are available for families with young children. Outdoor seating extends the space beyond the counter, and dogs are welcome throughout. Free Wi-Fi is available for anyone working or browsing over a coffee. It opens Monday to Saturday during the day and closes on Sundays, and reservations are recommended. The site sits next to a car park near the station, making it a straightforward stop for passing custom as well as those settling in for the music nights.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers consistently single out the fried egg rolls and cooked breakfasts, several also praising a generous soup and the strong coffee, as the reasons they keep returning to this cosy, guitar-lined spot with its Thursday open mic nights. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, and the space itself draws mentions as a handy, quiet stop for coffee and a chat. The clearest recurring complaint is slow service and mixed order accuracy: one reviewer waited over 45 minutes for two rolls and two coffees that tasted of "cheap ingredients" and saw later arrivals served first, while another had a bacon roll missing from a takeaway order and got no answer when calling to flag it. A separate reviewer found the cafe closed despite posted opening hours. Long-time regulars who remember it before a temporary closure note it has reopened largely unchanged, same cakes, same coffee, and by their account the same familiar staff.

“Very nice place the staff was super kind and talkactive but i have one complaint the place should be renamed into the gay autistic cafe to represent the hazbin hotel community more but other than its a definite 5 star establishment that i would highly recommend”
  • Stacey Christie
“Used to come here often. Noticed the long waiting times for food before it closed and now after reopening it's the exact same. We waited 45 minutes or more for two rolls and two coffees, which was just over £18 and tasted like cheap ingredients. People were also getting their orders taken before us when they arrived after us. The service is somewhat okay but a certain staff member really needs to work on their customer service skills. Will not recommend this place anymore.”
  • Antonios Fried Egg Roll
“Update from a previous review, having been closed for some time, Acoustic Cafe is now open again. For anybody that knew it before will recognise it straight away, the guitars on the wall are still there, Thursday night open mice sessions seem to be still on, (adverts on the wall for it), cakes looks to be as good, the coffee is good and strong, and most important (to me) the fried egg rolls are the best. Best of all, its the same friendly staff as before. Missed it when it closed but now its back, can really recomend it.”
