Customer Review Summary
Afternoon tea draws the most praise, with reviewers describing a portion too big for one person, half taken away in a paper box, and gluten free, vegan and dairy free versions made on request. Scones and cakes follow close behind, including a vegan lemon and blueberry cake and soup served with a choice of brown or white bread. Several credit the friendly staff and note the change of ownership to Tea Jennys, with one saying food and service improved. Slow service is the recurring complaint: one reviewer waited a good 20 minutes for a coffee served well after the cake, and another says hot drinks again arrived long after the food. One afternoon tea review describes sandwiches with hard bread, an egg sandwich with barely any filling, and a refill pot that held only hot water until it was corrected. That reviewer also reports that one in the group was sick afterward. Another found a lentil soup portion very small for its price. A reviewer who asked for tea refills describes the replacement pot being swapped for a proper one.

“I tried this place when it was Central Perk and didn’t find it appealing. The only reason I decided to visit was when I read Tea Jennies had came on board . The atmosphere - is inviting, staff welcome / acknowledge you as you come through the door . All staff are friendly and look happy to be working there . Food- I had soup , latte and cake . Soup was a special, came hot , well presented with bread and butter , I liked being asked if I would prefer brown or white bread . Coffee was hot and cakes are to die for ( only issues is there’s too many ti choose from) I have been a few time and got different thing and have never had any issues , even when I got soup and didn’t like it they offered to replace it for something else without me saying anything . Price - it isn’t the cheapest but certainly isn’t the dearest either and as far as I am concerned I would rather come here snd know what I’m getting than go else where and it be a hit or a miss . They are consistent . Bathrooms - very clean and tidy , always a lovely smell anytime you use them , there is also a disabled bathroom/ baby changing area that doesn’t smell of nappies when you go in ( have had to use this lately ) . Really have nothing negative to say.”

“Well worth a visit. Customer service was excellent and the scones delicious. The little tea cozy added a nice touch. Definitely be back! :)”

“I used to really enjoying going to Central Perk in Falkirk, and always recommended it to friends. However my last couple of visits, in the past 2 months, have been disappointing. The service in particular seems to have gone downhill......the serving staff are all very polite and friendly but the time taken for food/drinks to arrive is just too long. On my last visit I had to ask twice, after initially ordering it, where my coffee was. They were very apologetic but this doesn't take away the fact that I waited a good 20 minutes for my drink, my cake having been served 15 mins prior. I had the same issue on my previous visit too......hot drinks being served long after the food arrived, and one order missing an item of food.”

“Since being taken over by Tea Jennys, the overall service has improved from good to great, the food has improved, as if the chefs are feeling rejuvinated woth the new owners. Which is great because this has been a favourite of mine and the Mrs for a long time!”
