About PizzaExpress
PizzaExpress is a pizza restaurant at 57 MacArthur Glen Outlet Centre in Ellesmere Port, inside Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet. A braille menu lets guests who read braille browse the choices on their own. Dough Balls with garlic butter work as a starter, and pizzas such as the Four Seasons Speciale come with garlic bread on the side. Lasagna is also on the menu for anyone who wants something other than pizza. The team can push tables together for larger groups, and a wait for a table is common at peak times. The PizzaExpress Club app is used for deals, and the staff help guests with it.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers stop here for pizza after shopping, and the lasagna and pizzas draw the most mentions, including the Four Seasons Speciale, a vegetarian pizza, the American Hottest and BBQ burnt ends, with pizza balls and garlic bread close behind. Reviewers describe the food as fast, very nice and full of flavour. Service earns repeated praise, with several singling out servers who were friendly, accommodating and good with kids, and one family received an extra pizza after the first was not perfect. The main complaint is pace on busy days. One reviewer describes weekend queues outside, plates cleared quickly and slow drinks, and another found service a little cold and sharp. Smaller gripes include one pizza arriving not hot, one that was difficult to slice, and no mayo being available. One reviewer mentions that staff explained the app and helped them use it, and another says the relaxed evening ended with them staying longer than planned.

“Gino from Cheshire Oaks has just given one of the best experiences I've had in a long, long time. Friendly, nothing too much trouble, fun, accommodating, great with the kids. Genuinely, I will be visiting again the hope to be served by Gino. Please pass my thanks on to him. He is a true asset to your business.”

“Reliable Family Favorites in a Polished Space, but Weekend Wait Times and Rushed Service Dampen the Vibe Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Located at Unit 57 within the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks (CH65 9JJ), PizzaExpress is a highly popular, reliable anchor for hungry shoppers. Situated in a prime location alongside the outlet's main dining strip, this branch features the brand's signature modern, open-kitchen style where you can watch the pizzaiolos toss dough. It offers a familiarly comforting, crowd-pleasing menu, though the high-volume retail setting occasionally compromises the relaxed dining experience. On the positive side, the food quality and consistency are exactly what you expect from the brand. The Classics Done Well: The iconic Dough Balls with garlic butter remain an absolute must-order, and the thin, crispy Romana pizzas (such as the Padana or the spicy Diavolo) are consistently delicious, fresh, and well-topped. Excellent Loyalty Deals: If you use the PizzaExpress Club app, the savings and freebies (like complimentary dough balls or soft drinks) make dining here incredibly cost-effective, especially when feeding a family. Accommodating for Kids: The "Piccolo" children's menu is brilliantly designed and represents great value, complete with activity packs that keep younger kids entertained while waiting for food. The primary drawback is the frantic pace during peak hours: The Dreaded Queues: On busy Saturdays, bank holidays, and during school holiday rushes, the wait for a table can easily stretch to 30 or 45 minutes. Because there is limited indoor waiting space, you will likely find yourself standing out on the pedestrian path. The "Turn-and-Burn" Feel: When the outlet is packed, the service can feel incredibly transactional. Plates are sometimes cleared the absolute second you swallow your last bite, and you may feel a subtle, hurried pressure to pay the bill and free up the table for the next waiting party. Variable Service Speed: Because of the sheer volume of diners, there can be noticeable delays between ordering your drinks and actually receiving them, or finding an assistant to request the bill when the restaurant is at capacity. Ultimately, PizzaExpress at Cheshire Oaks is a safe, highly reliable, and tasty bet for a sit-down family meal that pleases everyone from toddlers to grandparents. If you want to enjoy a genuinely relaxed, leisurely meal without the rush, try to dine during a quiet mid-week evening or plan for an early lunch before the shopping crowds peak.”

“Shopping in the area so the clan decided to eat here. It was pretty busy when we entered but the lady pushed a few tables together and made space for the clan. We were seated within 5 mins. The orders were taken promptly. Food didn't take too long to come out. (Fair warning, they don't have mayo and the BBQ sauce wasn't to my liking.) All in all a nice place to pop in, although the service was a little cold and sharp. But it was a busy day so I can understand it being a struggle. Hope you enjoy.”

“One of the pizzas was not hot and there were not a lot of people in at the time we booked but the staff (especially Kat) were really lovely and felt totally relaxed amd not pushed so we ended up having a really nice evening and staying longer than we would as we’re chatting and the food is excellent and by far one of the best pizza places we go to.”
