About The Boozy Cow
The Boozy Cow is a hamburger restaurant on Frederick St in Edinburgh, built around smash-only beef burgers and boozy shakes. The Mac Daddy is among the burgers, and loaded fries or cheesy fries come alongside. Buttermilk chicken tenders are also on the menu. Customer Review Summary
The MacDaddy burger with cheesy or loaded fries is what reviewers mention most, praised for juicy smash patties, a soft bun and cheesy sauce. Close behind are the buttermilk chicken tenders, called juicy and delicious, along with a beef brisket burger and a haggis burger. A deep fried Mars bar and a candy floss cocktail also draw mentions, and one reviewer liked the spicy margarita. Staff are described as friendly and quick, and several note that dogs were welcomed, with one saying drinks were brought for them straight away. Portions are called large and fairly priced for Edinburgh. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the fries very hard and could not finish them, and another wanted a mid-rare burger but says patties come only as smash. One diner found the haggis and cheeseburger a bit dry, and another received no cutlery until a waitress slammed down a tub of it, seeming unhappy to be there. Free sanitary hand towels and unlimited mayonnaise or ketchup round out one diner's visit.

“Went to the boozy cow on a whim, We were half hour early and they seated us without any issues. Water was brought to the table with the menus. We were given time to browse and served by a very pleasant waitress. Food ordered and arrived 20 min later. The food was amazing. I cannot fault it. If they done mozzarella balls this place would give Fat hippo a run for there money. At my top spot for eating in Edinburgh. The only issue we had was when the food arrived we had no cutlery, my partner flagged down a different waitress and asked her for some, she wasn't impressed or happy when she brought the tub with cutlery she rather angrily slammed it down. She seemed to be unhappy to be there. Was committed on by the table next to us as well. Not enough to stop me returning though.”

“I have walked past this place and number of times but not gone in so I was more than happy to try it out for a family lunch. Gluten free options were plentiful and we'll explained by the lovely member of staff that took our order. Food was excellent and locally sourced. My beer was great and the spicy margarita that my wife had was very nice and spicy. All in all one of the best city centre eateries we have tried and not part of a multinational chain which is a bonus.”

“Our experience at The Boozy Cow was excellent. Everyone was very warm and welcoming, tables were clean and the options for both food and drink were plentiful I tried a small cocktail, which was fun (it had Candy Floss in/on it). We had the Chicken Tenders, a Burger, and loaded fries on the side. All of the food was delicious. We would like to, and plan to, visit again! Thank you for a lovely afternoon/early evening out to all the staff! :)”

“We were searching for a pub/restaurant in the city centre that was dog friendly. Came across the Boozy Cow. We were both craving a cheese burger so thought this spot was perfect for us. A cool vibe inside, with super friendly staff that bought the dogs drinks straight away (and we wouldn’t have it any other way). We both went for mac daddy burgers one with cheesy fries and the other Nashville dust. The burgers were incredible! The smash paddy’s were so juicy and flavoursome, the bun soft and cheesy sauce on top was so good. The fries were also amazing but we couldn’t decide on which ones were better! We finished off with a deep fried Mars bar as we had never tried one before! Would 100% recommend and will be back the next time we’re in the city!”
