Customer Review Summary
The river view is what reviewers raise most, with the setting by the water described as lovely and relaxed for brunch. On the plate, the pancakes lead the praise, light and fluffy stacks with blueberries and syrup or Nutella and strawberries. The full English breakfast comes close behind for its massive portions. A breakfast wrap with bacon, egg, hash brown and avocado, a Breakfast Stottie, and avocado toast with poached eggs also earn praise, and one reviewer mentions plenty of dogs around. Staff are called friendly and quick, though the place fills fast. One reviewer found it loud at peak lunch, and another suggests arriving early to pick a seat. The sharpest criticism comes from one visitor who found the food lacking flavour on two visits, citing a vegan salad that was just veg thrown together, a soggy chicken burger and average coffee. Another reviewer reports finding a hair in a piece of cheese, and the waiter apologised and the table ended up with a free coffee.

“I had the Breakfast Stottie and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. my wife had the avocado toast with poached eggs and caramelized, onions and pumpkin seeds, which was also delicious.”

“Excellent service and the food is fantastic. Hot, tasty and awesome chips. Prices about average - £17 for a burger, chips and salad, bottle of lager £6. Lovely riverside view. Highly recommend. Visited 16th July 2026.”

“The food was very good. My son grabbed fully English breakfast with orange juice and I grabbed a toast with poach eggs, avocado, bacon and goat cheese (as you can see on attached picture and black tea. Unfortunately, I found a hair in a piece of cheese. When I complain Jabal Al, our waiter, was very apologetic and pass our complaint . We end up with extra free coffee (good espresso) which fit perfect the small stack of pancakes (Nutella+strawberries is a solid choice), we were about to order as a dessert (We had a long day in front of us).”

“This cafe is in gorgeous setting just next to the river surrounded by trees. The staff are always lovely, and it has a nice feel to it. The food unfortunately doesn’t deliver. Been here twice and its always lacked flavour. The vegan salad I got was just veg thrown together. And my partners chicken burger was a little soggy. All eatable but not great. The coffees also very average. Such a shame as this beautiful spot deserves good food.”
