About Citrone's

Citrone's is a traditional cafe on Front Street in Chester Le Street that opens at 08:30 for breakfast and runs on a walk-in basis. The dining room uses fixed-to-the-floor table-and-chair units placed close together under strong lighting, and a queue forms outside before the kitchen opens. The breakfast menu centres on a fry-up of double egg-and-bacon with toast and marmalade, accompanied by tea and fresh orange juice. Seats fill quickly at the start of service, and the room works on a first come, first served basis through the morning.

“Absolutely banging cafe totally old school loved everything about it breakfast total value and best cup of tea I've had in ages plus super friendly staff 10/10”
  • Lady Jack
“Brilliant traditional cafe - like the ones I knew from my childhood - with table-and-chair units fixed to the floor, placed squarely to one-another under strong lighting. It is obviously very popular with the locals. When I arrived at 08:20, there was already a queue outside, waiting for the kitchen to open at 08:30. For my breakfast I had fresh orange juice, double egg-n-bacon, with toast and marmalade after; comfort food brilliantly cooked and delivered promptly. All at a very reasonable price. Loved it.”
