Customer Review Summary

The main complaint, raised in detail by one reviewer who booked for 25, concerns the manager's handling of a payment arrangement, which escalated into a family member being asked to leave and soured what had been a planned long afternoon. That reviewer states the meal and service were otherwise faultless. Other diners describe a modest, easygoing lunchtime atmosphere without flagging any further issues.

“Booked Friday lunchtime for 25 people for family get together. 50% of us were senior citizens. Firstly the food and table service were very good and we could not fault it. Prices were reasonable as well. What put a damper on the celebration was the attitude of the manager. She explained when we arrived that food and drinks were to be paid separately at the end of the meal. It was a case of we’re serving you, you’ll do as we say. One of our party went to the bar and asked for a cup of coffee and offered to pay then. The barmaid said this was not how they did things. The lady in question tried to explain why she wanted to pay then, and was polite and did not raise her voice. However the barmaid said she was rude. At this point the manager asked my cousin to leave. We as a family felt the manager had overreacted . I personally thought she should return to catering college and relearn the requirements of how to communicate with the public in hospitality. We all left after our meal, but we had planned to stay longer, so through the action of the manager, the place lost money. I don’t think any of us will return there, even though some are local. What should have been a pleasant time was spoilt by one person, the manager.”

“Opened another area of the restaurant to accommodate 15 of us on a couple hours notice on a Saturday night. Excellent selection of food, large portions, friendly staff.”

“Lamb bhuna was beautiful! I was a bit worried because I have coeliac disease so eating new places is a worry, but it was very tasty, great atmosphere and staff were aware of allergy importance. Tucked in before I took photos!”
