About The Flame Tree Cafe
The Flame Tree Cafe sits on Exchange Street, just outside the busy city centre, and operates as a walk-in vegan cafe with a separate vegan menu page listing its options. The kitchen centres on a vegan-led range that includes vegan haggis and cheese ciabatta, vegan cheese toasties, avocado and cream cheese sandwiches, and cheese and tomato toasties, alongside doughnuts that come in a vegan option. Drinks cover matcha among the choices, and the room keeps a pared-back interior feel. Dogs are welcome, and the door is walk-in only with no table booking available.

“Vegan haggis and cheese ciabatta! £9.95 (a few reviews say its lil bit pricey for dundee but I think this is the only cafe in dundee that offers vegan cheese? They do toasties/wraps too - super tasty!)”

“My absolute favourite place to go for lunch. There is such a good menu with amazing food and the vegan options are perfect The staff are really friendly and always go above and beyond. While you cant book a table I am always happy to wait and highly recommend a visit to anyone who hasn't been before.”

“Such a lovely wee cafe! I love that they have a whole page with all the vegan options which is so nice to not have to spend ages finding out what I can eat for once! Also they get bonus points because they're the only ones to offer vegan cheese toasties in Dundee (at least in town) which has saved my work lunch time cravings multiple times so thank you for that! Also the staff is so lovely and the location of the cafe is great as it's not in the busy city center!!”
