About The Seat Coffee House
On Bridge Street in Downham Market, The Seat Coffee House operates as a coffee shop, cafe and deli under one roof, seating customers in for walk-in service throughout the day. The counter pours coffee alongside cakes, and the kitchen turns out toasties, avocado toast and cinnamon toast, with cheese and chive scones among the baked options. On Sundays, the menu shifts to brunch with French toast as the morning plate. Dogs are welcome inside, so four-legged companions can settle in alongside their owners. The format suits a quick stop or a longer sit-down, with the deli side adding a layer to the usual coffee shop offer.

“Just popped into the Seat today. Had coffee here a couple of times, usually the girls serving in here are really friendly and on the ball. Today, a different girl, no greeting, no " be with you in a moment" etc. Just waited, waited at the counter. Finally asked what we wanted. I asked for a scone. "Just sold it"! We'd apparently have to wait for any cooked food as she "was behind" No "sorry" no niceties, she really had an air that she couldn't be bothered! Hardly anything on offer on the cooked menu ( breakfast looked best but was finished) and in terms of pastries/cakes etc. Very little choice. We told her we'd go elsewhere, she seemed very pleased! In summary: we didn't feel welcome, service poor, choice on offer, poor!”

“First visit earlier this week..staff were attentive and friendly, coffee was very good and the cheese and chive scone was simply delicious. My friend was equally impressed with the avocado toast that he had chosen.”

“Love this coffee house I visit most days for the coffee, the welcome I receive and the wonderful staff. I have been coming here since it opened and I love it. I have introduced friends and always bring my visitors to taste the best coffee and food and meet the fabulous people who work here.”
