Quick info
About JUN YUE
JUN YUE is a Chinese restaurant at 80 Whalley Rd in Clitheroe, open Tuesday to Sunday and closed Mondays. Wednesday and Thursday run on a buffet menu, which gives midweek visits a set-menu format. At weekends, orders come off the main menu instead. Three-course meals arrive in big portions, and the drinks list includes Chinese beer. The dining room has plenty of seating, and a small waiting area holds people who are waiting on food. Walk-ins are common at busy times. On New Year's Eve, the meal comes with free champagne.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food at Jun Yue, with diners calling it hot off the stove, well presented and delicious, and the starters singled out as great. Friendly, polite staff come up almost as often, and several say they never feel rushed. A weekday buffet is mentioned by one regular family, who note that weekends are busier and require ordering from the main menu. Big portions and a free New Year champagne also get a mention, along with a Chinese beer that one diner liked. Several describe celebrating birthdays here and returning many times. The complaints are specific. One takeaway chicken fried rice arrived drenched in soy sauce, with chargrilled chicken pieces that tasted and smelt burnt. Another diner found the chicken on a main so soft it was like jelly. Busy nights bring crowds, and one reviewer felt staff were overwhelmed by walk ins, with people standing and waiting around the entrance. One reviewer suggests booking a table for larger groups, and a diner recalls a big queue for tables on New Year's Eve that the staff still managed to keep on top of.

“If you love Chinese food as much as I do, then you're in for a treat! My husband and I have been frequently dining at this restaurant since our son was a baby. Our little boy is now 8 years old. We go once a fortnight for date night and most times my son is with us. The food is always well prepared, very well presented. And HOT off the stove. The staff are friendly and so polite. The restaurant is clean and the ambience is great. We normally go on a Wednesday or Thursday as there is a buffet menu. It is cheaper than going on the weekend as it is very busy and you have to order off the main menu. Definitely recommend it!”

“Excellent food every time. Excellent service. Excellent management. Spent New Year’s Eve here. Very busy, but they managed to keep on top of it. Big queue for tables tells you everything you need to know. Free champagne with the meal for New Year. Starters were amazing. Mains were to notch. Extremely highly recommended. All of the staff go out of their way to give you the best service they can. Thank you Jun Yue. Out favourite restaurant. ***** five star all the way.”

“In the past, I have had really good food in the restaurant. So I'm sad to get this takeaway - Chicken Fried Rice. It came absolutely drenched in soy sauce as you can see! Those big brown strips are chicken pieces, not chips. Too chunky for my liking! They were chargrilled tasted and smelt burnt. Doesn't look very appealing does it? Very disappointed!”

“Our favourite restaurant!!! The 1st time, we had so much delicious food!! It was a birthday, so we ordered everything we fancied! We spent lots, but portion sizes were big and we got to have pauses between our 3 courses, plus a few drinks. It was value for money. Staff were friendly and efficient too. We've been back, so many times... it just gets better and better... 😍😋😍😋”
