“After living in the area for 7 months, and disappointed by another local Chinese, we visited the Mayflower on Saturday night for a takeaway. Busy on arrival, and it would appear that many takeaways were being ordered via phone calls. At 5.45pm there was a 25 min wait because of this. Only a couple of set meals on the menu, so we chose the £25.10 option. Very nice food, tasty, well cooked and excellent portions. Definitely would recommend the Mayflower. Friendly and polite staff. Some off-road parking and lots of street parking. Restaurant area looked small to medium size, and I would think pre-booking would be advised to avoid disappointment. Open Wed to Saturday only from 5.30pm.”

“It's a small menu but the food was nice. The tempura prawns were just frozen breaded prawns which was a bit disappointing. Odd atmosphere, didn't hate it but probably wouldn't return.”

“We ordered a takeaway at the weekend and they delivered from 4:30 onwards. The takeaway arrived at 4:36. Fantastic service. The food is recommended by my mother and I have to say she did not let the restaurant down. One of the best tasting Chinese we have had in a very long time. Truth they on the most cheapest Chinese in the land but you do pay for the quality. I very much look forward to my next Mayflower takeaway.”

“I am allergic to meat (quite a rare one). They listened carefully to what I told them and my food was served separately to everyone else’s. The food was delicious and the chef came out to check that everything was safe for me. I felt really taken care of and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Thank you.”
