About The Beijing
The Beijing is a Chinese takeaway at 6 Oakley Rd in Harwich, cooking from a 163-dish menu. The crispy chilli beef is served dry, with the sauce kept in a separate pot. Starters include Prawn On Toast With Sesame Seed, and Aromatic Crispy Duck With Pancakes is also on the menu. Soups run to Hot And Sour Soup Szechuan Style for those who want something to begin with. Orders are taken by phone, and a text message tells customers when the food is ready for collection.

Customer Review Summary
Crispy chilli beef is the dish reviewers raise most. One says it stayed insanely crispy even after sitting for a bit, and another loved it dry with a separate pot of sauce. Close behind are the prawn balls, the beef in black bean sauce, and a curry sauce one reviewer really loves, though another found it a tad thick. Diners repeatedly describe food arriving hot and tasty, with good portions and fair value, and one notes no fake looking sweet and sour sauce. The recurring complaint is timing. One delivery came quite late because of trouble with a delivery car, and another ran about 15 minutes behind, though the food was still hot. One reviewer who arrived by sat nav expecting Beijing landmarks calls it a sad shop that hasn't got the best hygiene rating, and found the chicken balls over priced. Several praise the staff on the phone, and when one late order was queried, the woman who answered chased it up and apologised.

“Here on holiday staying at dovercourt Holiday Park. Had this tonight and it was bloody lovely. Only wish we had one up our way the same quality. Food was boiling and really really tasty. Price was fair. We had 5 dishes plus quarter of a duck and it was about £50. Don't mind paying that for food that both me and my partner really enjoyed. Oh and the crispy chilli beef is not going to be beaten. Even after sitting for a bit was insanely crispy still. Xx”
