Customer Review Summary
Traditional Ukrainian cooking is what reviewers praise most, calling the dishes delicious, tasty, and hearty, and several first-timers say the waitstaff guided their choices. Desserts stand out in particular: the honey cake, and an Easter hamper of paski, one pistachio and one cheesecake-style with kuraga, packed with homemade meats, salo, and a Ukrainian Cabernet from Odesa. A vegetarian diner found plenty of options, and another reviewer notes Italian pasta and pizza for picky eaters. Close behind is the atmosphere, with live music on Saturday night, a spacious room, and festive christening and birthday gatherings. Pace is the recurring complaint. One diner describes extremely slow service, with a long wait for dessert and starters arriving together with the mains, while another calls the pace deliberately slow and not suited to a quick bite. One reviewer found the room chaotic at first because of a children's birthday party. Another's birthday table was surprised with a slice of cake and a candle.

“Good air conditioning! Friendly service, delicious food. They have Italian pasta and pizza dishes too, so you can bring everyone, even if you have picky eaters in your party. The pace here is deliberately slow, so it's not the place for a quick bite but it's perfect for a liesurely meal catching up with friends or just relaxing.”

“The Easter hamper from Ole Kyiv feels more like a curated experience than a standard seasonal box. The ‘paski’ (Easter cakes) is the clear highlight. Soft, rich, and buttery with just the right sweetness. One pistachio, topped with nuts and icing for texture and depth. The other, a cheesecake-style with kuraga (dry apricots), adding gentle bursts of sweetness that balance the creaminess perfectly. Both feel refined, like a modern take on tradition, with that unmistakable homemade quality. The savoury side holds up just as well. A selection of Ukrainian homemade meats and silky ‘salo’, full of flavour and clearly crafted with care. Paired with a Ukrainian Cabernet from the war-stricken Odesa region, smooth and rounded with a story behind it, plus marinated vegetables that bring a sharp, fresh contrast. Altogether, it’s a high-quality, thoughtful Easter hamper that feels authentic and elevated, something that genuinely makes the occasion more special. The quality is fully in line with the food and service you’d expect from Ole Kyiv itself.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (If I could give 20 stars, I would!) This was our second visit to Ole Kyiv Restaurant in Chislehurst, and once again it completely exceeded expectations. The first time we visited was back in 2024, and after returning now on a Saturday evening, I can honestly say the quality has remained outstanding — if not even better. The food is absolutely delicious, full of flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care and passion. Every dish we tried was a pleasure. The restaurant itself is very beautiful, warm, elegant, and welcoming — a place where you instantly feel comfortable. What really made the evening special was the live music on Saturday night, which created a wonderful, relaxed, and joyful atmosphere without being overwhelming. It added so much character to the whole experience. Amazing food, great ambience, lovely vibes, and a place you genuinely want to return to again and again. Highly recommended — Ole Kyiv is a true gem! ⭐️✨”

“Visited Ole Kyiv for dinner and had a great experience. The restaurant is spacious, and we were seated immediately without any wait. Julia looked after us and was very helpful, since it was our first time trying Ukrainian cuisine, we asked for her recommendations. The food was delicious, and the dessert was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant and definitely plan to return.”
