About La Flambé Restaurant
On Seagry Rd in Chippenham, La Flambé Restaurant serves French dishes with Spanish and Italian influences inside an 18th-century building with rustic-chic decor. The eight-item menu includes Pan Seared Halloumi and Grilled Fillets Of Lemon Sole, with mains accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes, roast potatoes, and vegetables. Daily specials have featured lamb shank, duck breast, and sea bass, and a set menu is offered with several side dishes to share across a starter, main, and dessert format. Reservations are recommended, though walk-in seating is available shortly after opening for those without one. A step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs make the room workable for families with young children. A private dining room is available for groups, and a fireplace warms the space in cooler months. Outdoor seating extends the dining area, and parking is available outside the restaurant. The kitchen closes on Mondays, running Tuesday through Sunday.

Customer Review Summary
The dauphinoise potatoes come up again and again as a standout side, praised through numerous meals alongside generous roast potatoes and vegetables, though a few describe an inconsistent batch, one calling a serving grey and reheated, another likening the sauté potatoes to rocks. Close behind, diners repeatedly single out mains such as the sirloin with its sauce, swordfish, the lamb shank and duck breast specials, and the albóndigas, alongside desserts like sticky toffee pudding, tiramisu, and a rhubarb and ginger parfait. Staff are described consistently as friendly and attentive, though one visit describes the owner as abrupt, reprimanding a staff member in front of guests, and another recounts a bill that took nearly half an hour to arrive. A smaller number report letdowns like dry chicken in an Asian salad or bland boiled vegetables. One diner recalls a manager quietly settling their bill early when the wait ran long, letting them leave before the rest of the table.

“The menu looks good. The service was efficient. The atmosphere was fine. The food was a little disappointing. An Asian salad with dry chicken, boiled vegetables with no flavour, the steak was fine but pricey, the fish was small and well cooked, the prawn starter was shell-on but too small by the time they were de-shelled. Wine selection ok. A strange combination of roasted potatoes & Dauphinoise, but only a spoonful of each. Unfortunately nothing hit the mark for us.”

“I have eaten at la flambe on a few occasions and everytime I leave with a big smile on my face. The service is excellent and the food is divine. Tonight me a d my wife had excellent service for out 14 year wedding anniversary. Was a perfect meal out and I'm glad I chose to dine here on this special occasion”

“Absolutely superb! A long lazy lunch. Outstanding food and service. Most places are overpriced with ordinary service and food, this is an exception. Incredible menu choice, beautifully cooked and presented. An absolute gem. Our new favourite venue!”
