Customer Review Summary
Chicken balls are the item reviewers raise most, and they split opinion. One diner calls them excellent, while others describe them as doughy and soft, soggy with dry, chewy chicken, or rock hard with little chicken inside. Chow mein divides reviewers the same way. One finds the Singapore chow mein delicious, while another calls the house special chow mein slimy with hard, tasteless meat. Several reviewers say the quality has gone downhill since the takeaway opened. They cite tough beef chop suey with sloppy bean sprouts, a king prawn dish with a single piece of spring onion, duck in hoisin that was not nice, and dry lemon chicken and crispy chilli beef with very little sauce. Some call it overpriced, and one says most of a large order went uneaten. Happier diners praise the shredded beef in honey chilli sauce, the salt and pepper prawns and chicken, and friendly service. Regulars note that orders are ready when they arrive to collect.

“If I could leave 0 stars I would. Wow the food was terrible I would not feed it to my dog! Chicken balls with next to no chicken inside and whatever it was inside was not chicken as it was rock hard! The house special chow mein was also shocking all meat was hard and tasteless and very slimey. £35 and all went in bin! Will never eat from here again”

“I’ve had a couple of great Chineses from this takeaway… however as of last 8 months I have found it’s changed - not in a good way. The food is not what it was. The last order we put in was almost £60 and there was so much left over because we struggled to enjoy it. I hope they make some improvements to get it back to what it was when they first opened.”

“Overpriced poor quality, I spent £24 on 3 dishes and they couldn't even throw a bag of Prawn crackers in for free. The sweet and sour chicken balls were doughy and soft. The Singapore vermicelli was pretty basic tasting and bland. The crispy beef was ok. Good Chinese food is so hard to find in Gloucestershire these days.”

“We regularly order from here and the food has always been great tasting and a high quality. Always ready to collect quickly after calling. No complaints would recommend”

“Fair play my meal was really bad. Chose the chicken with garlic and chilli. Couldn't believe that basically it was an onion, a few pieces of chicken and an unrecognisable sauce. No to be fair I did have two pieces of pepper. Steamed rice was nice though. Be warned the food is awful 😞”
