Quick info
About THE KIKI
Board games like Connect 4 come out to tables while orders are cooking at THE KIKI, a restaurant and cocktail bar on Chatham high street at 6 High St. The kitchen works through 44 dishes built around halal smash burgers, with The Big Cheese Smash alongside The Kinki Fries, and chicken wings in BBQ, Thai and Piri Piri versions. Thick milkshakes made with fresh fruit round out the drinks side of the menu, next to cocktails from the bar. Food arrives by table service in a small, decorated room where old-school tunes play, and a wait for food can happen. Dogs are welcome, so walkers can stop in with them. The doors open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Burgers anchor most visits, described as juicy, full of flavour and cooked right, with diners pairing them with fries and chicken wings that one reviewer urges everyone to try. Thick milkshakes made with fresh fruit come up too, as does the board games touch, with Connect 4 brought out while people wait and children kept entertained. Several describe a chilled, welcoming feel with old-school music, flowers on the table and staff who made space even when the place was closing, and more than one calls out how clean the interior and bathroom are. The clearest dissent comes from a delivery order: burnt, crunchy burgers, undercooked chips and cheese the reviewer says had gone off, with that same reviewer reporting illness afterwards and a report to food standards. Another, otherwise happy with fresh, well made food and a short wait, suggests the kitchen ease off the salt and leave it on the table instead. Recommendations to try it come repeatedly from regulars-in-the-making planning return trips.

“Don't order delivery. Never eaten inside. I ordered a Camembert smash burger, bacon and cheese loaded fries, and two milkshakes. The cheese was not Camembert, and if it was, it was so far gone off it was fizzy, and also not even Camembert itself but the rind. If you're going to do a burger, don't use the rind unless requested. Not everyone eats it, and in a burger, it doesn't work. It was quite simply awful. The burgers were so burnt they were crunchy all the way through, which was annoying enough. The chips were undercooked. I don't understand how the kitchen is run, but if my food was a deciding factor, I'd say not efficiently. I really wanted to like this place, but no, not gone-off cheese. My daughter is ASD; she really struggles with takeaway, so smash burgers are off the list along with loaded fries. My husband has allergies; he wasn't here for the food tonight, but I just wouldn't ever risk this place due to the lack of care for hot, cooked, in-date food. Please just take some time, kitchen and quality control staff. I was sick after having the burger, so I have actually now informed food standards.”
