“A gem of a small cafe in the centre of the city! No wonder it's so busy. Lots of choice on the menu, good-size portions, food cooked to order and well done. Coffee good quality (Lavazza). Ask for milky coffee if you normally have a latte. Good choice of delicious desserts. Great value and friendly, efficient service. June 2026 Update: Another excellent, good-value Lunch. Huge portion of ham and chips 👏😃 Great service from a very busy Scottish lady. Highly recommend.”

“Went to the buttered cat but they had ran out of food and recommended this cafe. It was great! I had a sausage,pickle and cheese toasted sandwich with a side order of chunky chips,salad and home made coleslaw.All for £10. What a bargain and filled me up. My partner had a ploughman's lunch for just over a tenner which was also full with lots of variety. Well worth a visit!”
