About Cafe Yakamoz
Cafe Yakamoz is a family-run cafe in Cardiff, at 103 Cathays Terrace, where the owners' son and daughter serve customers. The Turkish breakfast pairs fried eggs and sucuk sausage with warm bread, and the Marmara sharing platter gives a table a mezze sharer. Baklava is on the menu too, including a chocolate version. The menu is written in both English and Turkish, and orders are placed at the counter. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along. Street parking nearby is limited, split between permit holders and a 2-hour no-return limit.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Turkish breakfast, with fried eggs and sucuk, the Marmara sharing platter and the Mesopotamia breakfast for two named as the dishes that stood out. Borek comes up repeatedly, described as crispy and fresh and as something not found at other Turkish places in Cardiff. Close behind is the Turkish tea, called perfectly brewed and served extra hot, along with Turkish coffee and a flat white that one coffee drinker found good. Chocolate baklava and regular baklava get praise too, one reviewer calling it not too sweet, and another pair received two complimentary chocolate baklava at the end of the meal. Mango and pineapple juice arrived in a pineapple glass. Service is a consistent theme: the family who run the cafe are described as friendly, welcoming and proud of their dad's cooking, talking diners through each dish. The only caution is that one reviewer found parking limited in the side streets, split between permit holders and a two hour limit, though they said not to let it put anyone off.

“Cafe Yakamoz was the chosen destination for my birthday brunch, my first time with my partner. It absolutely did not disappoint; the Marmara sharing platter was a delight of different options, all of which were thoroughly enjoyable. The Borek was a great addition that I have not had at other similar Turkish restaurants in Cardiff. The service and enthusiasm of the family who run Cafe Yakamoz was brilliant. Both the son and the daughter spoke with such pride about their dad’s cooking and talked us through everything that we were eating which contributed to an all round fantastic experience.”

“Absolutely loved this place! The food felt truly authentic and full of flavour. The Turkish tea was amazing perfectly brewed and such a lovely addition to the meal. The breakfast exceeded our expectations, with a great variety of fresh and delicious dishes. Everything felt warm, traditional, and thoughtfully prepared. Definitely a spot I’d recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Turkish breakfast experience. Can’t wait to come back!”

“Beautiful Turkish culture and a varied menu (both English and Turkish). The real reason I'm writing this is because of the service. These people are incredibly friend and very caring for the customer. Even educational as I was curious about the Turkish coffee but decided against it since I was eating. Coffee was good and as a coffee drinker who always has a flat white I can say it's good. The juice was amazing. My partner had mango and pineapple and she loved it, also in a adorable pineapple glass. 10/10 visit”
