Customer Review Summary
Coffee draws the most praise, with reviewers singling out the flat white and an iced latte described as fabulous, while the cakes come close behind, including gluten free, dairy free and vegan options. Sandwiches such as the Ruben, the Harissa Cheese and a grilled cheese are called hearty, and one tea drinker enjoyed an elderflower punch loose leaf in a stumpy teapot. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere relaxed. The criticism is specific: one reviewer found the coffee terrible on both visits and extremely expensive for what it was, and another found the newly added matcha poor quality, brownish and tasting like pond water. Even so, one diner who ordered a gluten free pesto chicken sandwich was asked by staff whether it was an allergy or a preference, and that diner and a friend each kept half of their massive sandwiches for dinner.

“Love this place so much. The staff are always so wonderful. Gluten free and dairy free cakes. Wonderful place to chill out and read a book. Side note: Have recently started serving matcha, but it’s very poor quality - more brown, than free and tastes like pond water 😂 Please get better matcha (and store it correctly so it doesn’t go off).”

“Great place for coffee, one of our regular stop-ins, not least because of the good selection of cakes. The staff are friendly and efficient and it has a nice atmosphere to sit and relax. And once or twice I’ve had a hearty sandwich - highly recommended.”

“The best coffee place in canterbury by far. Cosy, great coffee and the home made cakes are brilliant. Excellent for takeaways or sit in.”

“Great service and delicious flat white 🤩 croissants are almost as good as Tesco’s 😍”

“Great location, next road to Canterbury cathedral. Good for a decent coffee and a few extra teas rather than just the usual, English breakfast. We had an elderflower punch loose leaf and came in a stumpy teapot. Good selection of baked goods too and a nice relaxed atmosphere that was warm and cosy.”
