About WT's Sports Bar

WT's Sports Bar sits on Burleigh Street in Cambridge, combining a pool hall with a sports bar built around televised football. Snooker and pool tables are available to play, including a covered snooker table associated with Neil Robertson on the premises. The screens focus on Champions League football matches, and the bar serves pints alongside the play. Entry is on a walk-in basis, with a membership fee required to use the tables. A sign at the front offers free membership to students, which the team told visiting students applies only to those studying at Cambridge University.

Customer Review Summary

Pool and snooker tables draw the most mentions, with visitors describing a pint, a Champions League match and a game of pool, and one non-member from Essex welcomed on the tables. Complaints center on staff and membership: a free-for-students sign applied only to Cambridge University students, new staff gave wrong drinks, and one reviewer alleges discrimination and being screamed at before being kicked out.

“WT Sports Bar in Cambridge says "Free Membership for all students" on the front, but is it really? Finding myself in town with an hour to kill I fancied playing some snooker, clear my mind while knocking some balls around in practice. When I went in I was asked if I'm a member, I said I'm a student, then I was told that membership is free to students ONLY of Cambridge University. 1. I have never felt discriminated against based on my education 2. The sign on the front is false advertising The tables are rubbish quality anyway having played there 3 times before, never once getting turned down based on my Kings College London education. They just live off the name of Neil Robertson, who is known to practice Snooker here. (And his table which is covered of course is probably top quality) Would avoid this place at all costs, recommend Cue Club in Peterborough and 147 Club in Huntingdon as proper venues.”

“A hub for discrimination and blatant dishonesty. I was a loyal regular here for a long time, but my recent experience revealed the ugly truth about this place. WT’s Sports Bar isn't just poorly managed; it’s a hostile environment for anyone who doesn't fit their narrow "preferred" demographic. The pattern of deception started in March 2025 when they tricked us into a £10 membership fee, claiming their "free for students" sign didn't apply to us. It’s a recurring theme here: different rules for different people. During our last visit, they wasted our paid time with unnecessary "checks," then refused to adjust the timer. If you take a moment to read other reviews, you’ll realize this isn't an isolated incident—many others have reported being denied entry or harassed based on their background or accent. When I calmly addressed their behavior, the staff’s mask slipped. The employee didn’t even try to be professional; they screamed at me to “K-I-S-S M-Y A-S-S” and kicked us out. It’s pathetic that a legend like Neil Robertson is associated with a place that harbors such prejudice and hostility. This isn't a sports bar; it’s a disgrace to Cambridge. Do not give them your money unless you enjoy being treated like a second-class citizen.”
