About Fort St George
Fort St George is a pub and restaurant on Midsummer Place in Cambridge, set right by the river with a garden overlooking Jesus Green. The garden draws both walkers along the river path and diners settling in for a meal, and dogs are welcome alongside their owners. The kitchen runs on app-based ordering at the table, so there is no waiter service, and the bar pours a selection of ales to go with the food. The riverside garden is the main draw in warmer months, while the indoor rooms keep the pub open year-round. With its position on the edge of Jesus Green and its mix of casual table service and outdoor drinking space, it works as a stop for both a quick pint and a longer meal by the water.

Customer Review Summary
A small outdoor garden overlooking the water draws most reviewers to this Cambridge pub, with several singling out the burgers and the ale selection. Service runs quick and app-based ordering keeps things moving. A few diners warn the kitchen is inconsistent, citing a long wait for paninis with undercooked meat and a notably small portion of chips, while another gripes about high soft drink prices. Staff friendliness earns consistent praise.

“Lovely lunch, good surroundings sitting outside is always nice. Ordered on the app and fast service. However, if they need less staff because no waiter takes your order anymore, a large coke doesn't need to be £4.50!!”

“Lovely place to stop for lunch, either looking at the water side or over towards Jesus's Green”

“Really nice lunch today, quick service and friendly staff. Beautiful garden to eat in with tasty burgers.”

“Very disappointing lunch.. Had to wait around 55 minutes for two panini's and chips. There were a maximum of 18 people out there, which shouldn't be a problem. When it eventually arrived, the chips were a very small portion (little bit more than on the picture) and meat was not sliced correctly and undercooked... (see picture), which really was a shame. Wouldn't recommend. I did see others with fish and chips that looked way nicer :)”

“James, Carla and ella are the best servers we’ve had since our stay in Cambridge. Lovely drinks and great ale selection. Never miss coming to this great Cambridge city pub!”
