Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the chicken chow mein, with the squid and chicken version praised for tender squid rather than the chewy kind they find elsewhere. Close behind are the chicken and blackbean and the chicken with ginger and spring onion, while others name salt and pepper prawns, crispy seaweed, salt and pepper chicken wings and a fish dish cooked with real care. Diners repeatedly describe the food as hot, consistent and generous in portion, and several call the staff friendly. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the vegetable noodles and garlic vegetables mostly noodles, and wanted less noodles and more chicken and sauce in the chow mein. Another says the curry sauce is sometimes far too salty, though at other times it is mind blowing. One reviewer waited a further half hour after turning up for a phoned-in order that had not yet been cooked, and another called the food inedible and poor value. One diner notes the order was cash only, and that it was ready exactly when promised.

“Yet another delicious takeaway from Paklok. By far the best Chinese Takeaway for miles around. Food is always piping hot and incredibly tasty. Their Chicken & Blackbean is particularly good, as is their Chicken with Ginger & spring onion. In fact practically everything we have ever ordered from there has been lush. I can't recommend them highly enough!”

“We ordered the food it was ready at the time it was supposed to be. The price was reasonable, The chicken balls were good size and tasty, we had vegetables with noodles and vegetables with garlic, Unfortunately, both of these were mainly Noodles, Not really enough vegetables in there. The chicken chow mein was reasonably tasty, Probably could’ve done with less noodles, more chicken and more sauce. Everything else with the meal was fine. Was cash only”

“First time trying here, Iam out of area but willing to travel for a decent Chinese. I had squid and chicken chow mein, the squid was the best I’ve tasted in years. A lot of Chinese takeaways overcook it and it’s chewy this was so so tasty, and really decent portion size. Chow mein was fantastic too, this will definitely now be one I will use everytime. Iam adding to my intial review as I have been ordering from pak lok for a few months now… absolutely brilliant, food is always consistent , hot and so tasty! The lady that takes my order is lovely. Thank you!”

“Phoned an order through, just short of £50, and was told it would take about 50 minutes. Turned up after 50 minutes and food had not even been cooked. Had to wait another 30 minutes. What is the point in taking phone orders? Hope the food isn't as bad as their service.”
