About Balti House
Balti House is an Indian restaurant at 112 High St in Brentwood, open evenings only and closed on Tuesdays. Dinner starts with poppadoms, and the menu includes balti dishes such as the Lamb Tikka Balti. Nans and rice are served alongside the curries. The room is plain and simple, with the focus placed on the food. Customers can bring their own alcohol to drink with their meal, so a table can choose its own drinks to go with the curries.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the flavour of the curries, describing thick sauces full of spice, generous portions, well cooked nans and tasty rice, with the lamb tikka balti and the chicken shashlick singled out by name. Several call the service friendly, attentive and quick, and a few describe the owners and host as welcoming, including a couple who dined there on Valentine's Day. Two reviewers describe a very different night. One found the curries bland, the chapatti undercooked and the prawn puri unenjoyable, in a room so loud conversation was hard, with slow service blamed on a late staff member. Another reports waiting over two hours with only poppadoms and drinks arriving, then being charged for them without a meal. Reviewers who enjoyed their visits also point out that guests can bring their own alcohol.

“We put into a room with no headroom, we were given poppadoms and given a dream food was coming with 5 to 10minz for over 2hrs all we were served was drinks and once we had enough we were charged £60 for soft drinks and poppadoms what a absolute joke. Service was beyond a joke I have never in my life been given service like this! I wouldnt recommend this place to my worse enemy!”

“We had a delicious meal in The Balti House last night for Valentine’s Day, we are from the Midlands whereby we have a wide range of curry houses to choose from but this particular one in Brentwood is up there with the best we’ve been to. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious, many thanks and we’ll definitely be back in the future. Highly recommended to all. Many thanks. Sean & Jayne.”
