Customer Review Summary
Tribute nights draw repeat visits, with diners recalling a Jersey Boys evening and an Amy Winehouse act as memorable, and others planning to return for Elvis and Michael Jackson shows. The curries come close behind. Reviewers praise a Madras hot chicken tikka masala, Lamb Kharai with extra ginger and green chillies, Chicken Patia, Lamb Rogan and rich, creamy kormas, alongside keema naan and an oversized Balti naan. Staff are described as friendly and helpful, and one large group liked the set menu organised for them. The food also draws real criticism. A few reviewers found dishes bland or under seasoned, including a prawn and chicken biriyani that only had flavour from its curry sauce, and a butter chicken one group found too sweet to eat. One reviewer called the naan tasteless and tough, and a couple thought portions small for the price. One family said their feedback went unanswered after they asked for the manager, while a delivery customer had the owner offer a free item for next time and raised their rating.

“(delivery order) I had heard good things about this place, but I was disappointed with the food. Everything was delivered hot and on time, but the butter chicken was so weirdly sweet, my friends and I couldn't eat it. The naan was tasteless and tough. I did enjoy the Mirchi Chicken, but it's was expensive for only 2 pieces of chicken. EDIT: the owner reached out to me after this review, which was unexpected but appreciated. He offered me a free item for next time to make it right, and I appreciate good customer service so I added a star to my initial review.”

“I have never seen someone sabotage their own business the way I experienced here. Food is decent but it comes with a lot of unwarranted statutory warnings which I didn’t ask for.”

“We had a fantastic family dinner at Kohinoor last night! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel welcome straight away. The food was honestly outstanding—the Korma dishes were rich and creamy, and the naan bread was perfectly fresh. I highly recommend trying the chef's special chicken if you want something truly authentic and flavourful. The atmosphere was lovely, and the whole family really enjoyed the evening. Easily one of the best spots in Bracknell for a curry. We will definitely be back next month for the Elvis and MJ tribute night :)”

“Hadn’t been back since the Amy Winehouse tribute night and was really fancying a curry. After trying some of the other curry houses in Bracknell, we decided on going back to Kohinoor — and we’re so glad we did! That Amy night was unforgettable. She was incredibly flamboyant, full of personality and such a powerful singer, truly capturing the spirit and sound of the real Amy Winehouse. It was also such a special moment meeting Amy Winehouse’s mum on the evening — a lovely touch that made the whole experience even more memorable. On this visit, the food reminded us exactly why Kohinoor stands out. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and asked for it Madras hot — and they absolutely nailed it. Proper heat, rich and creamy but still packed with flavour. The keema naan was fantastic — generously filled with beautifully spiced mince, soft and fresh from the tandoor. My partner chose the onion bhaji starters — crispy and full of flavour — followed by a Lamb Kharai with extra ginger and green chillies. Bold, fragrant and cooked perfectly. Our son is very fussy so he had nuggets and chips, but it was nice that the manager kindly gave him a free ice cream which absolutely made his day. Such a thoughtful gesture. They also told me Amy Winehouse night is back in June so looking forward to seeing her again !!”

“The service was expected and nothing that’s overly special. We gave feedback and we were offered to speak to the manager, disappointingly, we were completely ignored. The food was quite bland and under seasoned. I was expecting a lovely family dinner for my son’s birthday and it was not up to par, it was upsetting to have received food which didn’t hit the birthday meal vibes or even our tastebuds. The nearby Morrisons frozen meals would have filled us, pleased us with seasoning and be remarkably cheaper: The portions had a large price for such a small amount of food. We were so hungry I had to feed my kids with pizza from a pizza restaurant a few doors down. It Is the worst restaurant that we have ever been to .The atmosphere was alright, we were seated a table of 4 and it was slightly small to fit a reasonable amount of food and a reasonable amount of comfort for us. Overall, service was really shocking and displeasing alongside with the food which was outstandingly atrocious. If only I trusted my gut however after the meal I don’t think I could ever.”
