About Pengam Spice
Pengam Spice is an Indian restaurant in Blackwood, set at Britannia House. Main meals are half price on set days early in the week, which gives diners a reason to plan a visit around them. Meals start with poppadoms and a chutney tray. The curries run from mild to hot, so each person can choose a spice level, and a few dishes contain no spice at all. Food reaches the table on very hot plates. The spacious seating area suits large groups.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the half price mains offered on certain early-week nights, which several describe as excellent value alongside tasty curries that arrive piping hot. Diners also single out friendly staff and quick service, generous portions, and a spacious seating area that one says suits large groups. One reviewer praises the range of spice strength, from mild to hot, and another calls the food authentic. Poppadoms and a chutney tray come up in a meal described as good value for two, while the naans are called alright but not the best. A few suggest booking ahead on the half price nights. The negatives are sharp but come from two reviewers: one found the chicken dry and apparently reheated, and both said the lamb curry had little or no meat in it. The other also describes a long wait on a delivery order, repeated chasing, bland food and dry chips. Another reviewer, by contrast, mentions quick delivery and never a bad takeaway.
