Customer Review Summary

Reviewers are split, and the draw they raise most is the generous portions of curry. One praises set menu B for two, with fresh curries that taste like home, and another describes chicken Madras with an onion bhajee starter, pillau rice and nan as excellent and very filling. Others call the food consistently great and delicious, though one wanted more spice in the meal and another found it mediocre. Service is the recurring complaint. Several describe slow, disinterested or unfriendly waiters. One says the staff were rude and impatient while taking an order, and one says a drinker was told no food could be made and that something had to be ordered to stay. A takeaway customer waited over an hour past the quoted time and cancelled the order. One diner got a wrong order and gristly lamb in a Lamb Tikka Massala, and the bill had nothing taken off. Others mention warm fizzy drinks, tattered menus and 70s background music. One reviewer suggests booking a table for groups.

“This Indian is brilliant - I had this Indian multiple times and cannot fault it. Portion sizes are generous and the quality of food is consistently great.”

“We visited this restaurant on Saturday, the food was so good. I'm from Yorkshire and since been living in Wales the curries have not tasted like back home. We were recommended to this restaurant and so happy we visited. The staff were so welcoming, the food was so good , great taste like home and so fresh. It turns out the family are from Yorkshire and that's why the food is like home. I can't wait to go back , it was delicious. We had set menu B for two people. Thank you for wonderful food and hospitality. We have recommended you to all our friends . Regards Anthony and Sam”

“Called at 7pm to place an order for collection. Was told 1 hour, called to marmaris opposite to order 2 small pizzas for the children as they don't eat Indian food. Waited over an hour longer, around 30 others also waiting to collect their takeaways. In the end I told them to cancel the order and had to take 2 cold pizzas back home for the children and explain to my wife why we had no food for ourselves. Don't take orders if you can't fulfil them, I will never eat here or order from them ever again. You ruined my Saturday evening and also caused arguments within the family. Messing people about like that isn't acceptable.”

“Never got round to writing a review but I will do now since I am still appalled by the service at this restaurant. My cousins and I went to this restaurant in the summer and it was just us and another table that was there. The waiter who came to take our order was so unbelievably rude and was visibly frustrated when we we made our order and kept urging us to hurry up and literally rolled his eyes and everything when he wrote down the order. Should have left there and then and still regret that we didn't but what makes things even worse is that we were literally brown and the other table was a caucasian group and this same waiter was so nice and friendly to them making them laugh and giving them complimentary pappadoms and things while his service towards us was absolutely shocking.”

“I wanted to eat and drink, so I ordered food and two Jack Daniel's. The waiter said there was no one to make me food and that I had to wait. I said I was in a hurry, so I'd drink my Jack Daniel's and leave. Then another waiter came and said it wasn't off-license and that I had to order something to eat. I thanked him and left. Very unfriendly waiters, very unpleasant place.”
