Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the Sunday dinner, with reviewers describing a very filling plate, plenty to choose from and the biggest Yorkshire pudding one had ever seen. Close behind is the table service, where several reviewers describe a friendly, attentive waitress who made the visit, and a breakfast visit with children around was called lovely. The sundae dessert was described as huge. Unlimited sides were liked, though one reviewer found the standard meat portions small and drinks service slow. The complaints are specific: dry vegetables that looked as if they had sat under heat lamps, a breakfast with raw bacon, cold beans and tomatoes, no coffee and dirty plates replaced by fresh ones stacked on top, and a rude exchange at the bar. One family was told there was no availability and not enough meat for walk-ins, then found tables bookable minutes later, and a server refused to bring out a fresh beef joint when the hot tray was empty. One reviewer notes app vouchers must be mentioned to the waiter before paying, having missed out on 25% off.

“Abby our waitress was absolutely wonderful. Made our visit 1st class. She was so friendly and welcoming and attentative. On the flip side the bar maid Tia was very rude which is a shame. Let the side down as she complained and questioned why we had gone to the bar. I was gobsmacked. Hats off to Abby who saved this experience for us.”

“Visited on a Saturday evening and it was quiet and relaxed. The large car park is a bonus, just remember to enter your reg number on the tablet. The meal is a fixed-price menu that varies by day: it’s cheaper in the week, with higher prices on Sat, and even more on Sun and Bank Hols. The unlimited sides were good, though I found the standard meat portions a bit small. Next time I’ll try upgrading to the King Size option. Service was okay but slow on drinks with little checking in. However, staff were helpful in explaining the carvery system for my first visit. The sundae dessert was a highlight, absolutely huge and awesome! Top Tip: You must tell your waiter about app vouchers before you pay. I forgot and missed out on 25% off my first visit, don't make my mistake!”

“Stayed overnight for a conference and was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, comfortable and great value for money. The only thing I noticed was the lack of an iron and ironing board, although I didn’t ask at reception so there may well have been a shared one available or an ironing room. The stay itself was hard to fault, especially for the price. We ate around 7:30pm, which is probably quite late for a carvery, got my plate, piled it high with way more than i could actually eat 😄 Overall though, a good stay and I’d happily stay again.”
