About Toby Carvery Hall Green
Toby Carvery Hall Green is a carvery on Stratford Rd in Birmingham, open daily. Breakfast runs as an all-you-can-eat buffet alongside the carvery, so guests can eat as much as they like before the roasts start. At the carvery deck, chefs carve the meat, and diners choose from the meats and vegetables and add roast potatoes and gravy. The standard carvery is served at lunchtime and on Sundays. Dessert includes dairy free ice cream with strawberries, and the drinks menu lists a Bailey's hot chocolate. Table bookings are taken, and a mid week voucher is accepted.

Customer Review Summary
Diners come for the standard carvery, praising a good choice of meats, plenty of fresh veg, great roasties and a gravy one reviewer calls fab. A delivery order earns similar credit, with the customer noting their request to leave out cauliflower cheese was honoured. Close behind is the service, with servers described as friendly, efficient and patient about a child's allergies. A dairy free ice cream with strawberries and a hot chocolate also get mentions. The complaints are specific. One Mother's Day party with a booking was told on arrival that the restaurant was running well behind, with no advance warning despite contact details being on file. The pub was packed, there was nowhere to wait, and a member who couldn't stand for long meant they cancelled and went home after a cursory apology. Others mention noisy children on Sunday afternoons, meat carved very thin, firmer veg, and food kept hot for hours by mid afternoon. One reviewer had a dirty spoon replaced straight away, and another server helped light a birthday cake.

“Nice carvery. Only thing is one would want to be there early ie lunchtime as we were there about 3 .30.and food had been kept hot for several hours. The staff are fabulous so friendly & helpful.”

“The carvery was okay. The meat is cut with a razor blade unfortunately but I do understand why. Some of the veg was a bit firmer than I like, but the gravy is fab. The atmosphere was noisy with screaming kids and shouting parents. Not what you want on a Sunday afternoon trying to eat your meal. We've been here a few times and it's always the same. Maybe we should try somewhere else.”
