Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the decor: a space crammed with old memorabilia, some of it for sale, which several liken to stepping back in time and describe as whimsical, rustic and cosy. Close behind is the varied menu of breakfasts, brunches and lunches. The jacket potato (one pairs it with chilli and Red Leicester), the Banana and Caramel Crepe and the French toast are named as favourites, and portions are called decent. Drinks mentioned include a Caramel Latte, a Jammy Dodger Frappe and a three-flavour slushy. Staff are described as friendly, service as prompt, and several call it kid friendly. The complaints are small and specific. One reviewer found the oat milk slightly burnt, another noted there is only one toilet, and a third reported a broken hand dryer and a heavy smell of urine in the toilets. A one-star reviewer objected to the cafe's recent use of AI-generated food images, while still praising the food and staff. One visitor left with a quarter of Pear Drops and Pineapple Chunks from the old-style sweet jars.

“The food here is amazing and so are the staff. However unfortunately they've recently started using AI for absolutely eveything, even the images of the food that they make. It's so disappointing and straight up disgusting to see places using AI for a job they could easily do, it just shows how lazy they are and how little they care for the environment. They couldve easily kept their old photos or just hire someone to make it for them but instead felt the need to use gallons of fresh water, donate to ice, take away opportunities from artists, and also lose alot of customers. That is what AI does. It's so embarrassing to see places doing things like this, do better.”

“Moved to the area last month and was looking for a coffee shop to try out and this spot definitely surprised me! As a barista myself I loved the mugs! It did entertain me 🙈 and the crepe and jacket potato portions are amazing for the price!!! I’ll be coming here with my kids for sure 🩷 Only let down in this visit is the oat milk being ever so slightly burnt, but that’s okay, I also burn my oat milk 😆”

“Great location. Easy to find. Variety of seating setups. Had full breakfasts and tea then as we were so comfortable, ordered a cappuccino. Good place for meet-ups. No rush/ hassle.”

“Proper english style food and drinks. I went to have breakfast with my hubby 💕 and it really made our day. The quantity and quality both were nice.”

“I have been using this establishment for many years and it really is a nice cosy place in a great atmosphere. It’s just like going back in time and the whole place has a lovely feel about it. There is a good selection of food and drinks to choose from on the menu. Good prices and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended”
