Customer Review Summary
Sweet and sour chicken is the dish reviewers name most, called good by one diner and the best of a bland meal by another. Close behind are the tasty ribs, the sizzling lamb, and a regular's go-tos of lobster noodles, salt and pepper giant king prawns and beef ho fun. Staff are often described as friendly or welcoming, and several call the pricing fair or reasonable, though one finds it a bit pricey. Flavour is the recurring complaint. Reviewers describe the little spring rolls as very bland, the crispy beef as short on flavour and the rice as a little under cooked, while one says takeaway portions have gotten smaller. One reviewer reports being ill after a takeaway order, and another describes a woman who calls herself the boss asking for a tip after small portions. Others mention dirty, old menus and little for vegetarians, with one item billed as a must for vegetarians containing crab. Two reviewers say to ask for more spice, and one who asked for spicy still found the curry bland.

“How dare they ask for a tip! the small lady who calls herself the boss and the young man that’s with her was so rude. They gave us small portion sizes and then had the nerve to ask for a tip. Completely unacceptable behaviour, I’ve never seen anything like it. I don’t recommend this place. So many other places better value for money. Feel sorry for the other lovely waitresses that work there. They deserve better.”

“Ordered takeaway for two from here yesterday as our usual restaurant was closed and we have heard good things about Mings. Unfortunately will not be returning as the food has made me very ill, throwing up and stomach ache. Really disappointing.”

“Takeaway portions have gotten smaller. Although generally good, food can occasionally be hit or miss”

“Wanted to give a 3 and half for this place. The menus and tableware could do with being replaced. The shared starter was nice. The ribs were really tasty. The little spring rolls were very bland. Like the Iceland ones. Sweet and sour chicken and the veg was good. The crispy beef didn't have much flavour to it. Not the beat Chinese food ive had but was pleasant. Would like to try the set meal next time and see what thats like. The prices were good and the staff were very welcoming. You could see there were a lot of regulars, which is a good sign. Ive heard in need to ask for a bit more spice next time. Will be definitely coming back to try some different things from what I ordered the last time. The person i was with was raving about the food.”

“Picked this restaurant off Google as my partner and I were looking for one to go to and this did not disappoint. The food was amazing, service was so friendly and super quick. Price point is also very fair. We will definitely go back.”
