About Hop Pole Inn
Hop Pole Inn is a pub on Cleobury Rd in Bewdley, set in a converted inn that keeps its original low ceilings and a working cast iron range. British cooking is served in the dining area, and the menu changes with the seasons. Pie Night brings different home made pies each week, with a lamb pie among them. Burger Night follows the same weekly rotation with something new each time, and a black and blue burger features on the menu. Live music and gourmet evenings add to the calendar. Dogs are welcome, with seating towards the back of the pub. Hops grow outside the building.

Customer Review Summary
Pie Night is the most frequent draw, with reviewers describing real home made pies served piping hot with tasty sides and generous portions, and the lamb pie called famous by one diner. Burger Night comes close behind, and one reviewer praised the black and blue burger. Others single out beer battered cod and chips, scampi and chips, chicken galantine, chicken bites and a massive Yorkshire pudding, while a vegetarian side of green vegetables and the vegan options also get mentions. Families say staff happily gave a larger portion of a child's chosen meal, and one group of 11 pre-ordered with no trouble over nut and egg allergies. Reviewers repeatedly call the pub cosy and the staff friendly. The caveats are small but concrete: a couple of mains were unavailable at one lunch, a dog-friendly table at the back sat up a few steep steps, and one diner found the tables a little sticky. Several mention the original low ceilings and working cast iron range, and one party stayed ages chatting.

“What a beautiful pub, popped in on the off chance we could get a table for lunch. The pub is spotless so cosy. The staff were attentive and friendly we could not of asked for better service. The food was absolutely delicious. It was well priced for the quality and service. We will definitely be calling back”

“Well worth popping in as you start the drive into Bewdley. The hops look stunning and also grow outside. Our group of 11 pre-ordered evening meals, no problem with allergies and a bonus our nut/ egg allergies person had a choice of deserts.”

“We stopped here for a meal before travelling home after spending the weekend in Bewdley. The pub has a really cosy atmosphere which we loved. The two front of house staff were very welcoming and friendly. My daughter, having outgrown the children's menu portion sizes, still preferred the children's choices. The staff were more than happy to provide a larger portion of her chosen meal, which we greatly appreciated. I had the black and blue burger which was amazing. My partner and son both enjoyed their meals, beer battered cod and chips and scampi and chips respectively. We will definitely return when we are next in the area and hope to try the Sunday roast next time.”

“Such a cosy, happy, authentic pub. The two staff were hugely efficient and friendly. The chicken galantine and their famous lamb pie were great. The original low ceilings and working cast iron range gave the place a homely and warm feel. We loved it and stayed ages chatting.”
