About Running Horse Inn
Running Horse Inn is a Chef & Brewer countryside pub on Long Bank in Bewdley. Dogs have their own area near the bar, set apart from the dining area, so pet owners can bring a dog along and still sit with a drink or a meal. The kitchen serves breakfasts and brunch, lunches and dinners, and a Sunday lunch. Main dishes include a Steak & Ale pie and fish & chips with mushy peas, and tiramisu is among the desserts. Cask ales are poured at the bar, and fireplaces are lit indoors. A large car park sits at the pub.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split on the food, but most praise the Sunday lunch and mains, with the lamb singled out as superb and a steak sandwich, duck starter and truffle fries also named. Desserts come up repeatedly: a tiramisu with a biscuit base delivered by the chef, a brownie described as a hit, and a recommendation for the Caramel Sunday. Several mention the large, enclosed beer garden for children, fireplaces lit indoors, and friendly staff, with one noting a bar area where dogs are welcome. One family found children's portions the same size as adults'. The main criticism comes from one diner who found the food a disappointment: fish and chips with only a few chips and dried-up mushy peas, a kids' burger gone in two bites, and a steak and ale pie only half full of meat with soggy, lukewarm veg. That reviewer also felt one server was stretched across many tables. A returning local described two poor visits before a makeover, after which the food was excellent. A pint at £6:70 drew a note that it was the same price as everywhere.

“We had a delicious meal yesterday 2 pm 6th August for our wedding anniversary. We love The Running Horse as it’s close to home, in a lovely location with great parking and is rarely crowded as the seating is well organised. The meal yesterday was one of the best we’ve had there, the lamb was superb. The service as usual was excellent. It’s become our ‘go to’ place for meals on special occasions. We noted that there is a nice area away from the dining area close to the bar where you can take your pet dog too so we must do that one day. Thankyou Running Horse and our compliments to the Chef.”

“We called in at the Running Horse after a trip to the safari park yesterday. I used my tesco club card points to pay. The whole experience was brilliant, lovely food, reasonably priced the childrens portions were the same size as the adults portions and only £9 for 3 courses this included a steak option which my daughter demolished. Lovely location with a huge beer garden for the kids to run around. Amazing service hats off to the lady behind the bar and the chef as there were only two of them working. We will definitely be returning.”

“Beautiful pub on the country side, stopped quickly for some light bite, decided to have only starter: duck with vegetables. Truffle fries were out of this world.”

“After two dreadful experiences at this restaurant 2025 i vowed never to set foot here again, but,i did last tuesday 9 June, what a difference, restaurant has had a makeover and is very homely. The menu is good, the service is good, and the food is now excellent, four of us ate there and we just couldn't fault it,what a lovely surprise! As i am local i am so pleased with the turnaround, and will now recommend anyone to dine here. Please keep up the good work.”
