About Stix and Stones City Centre
On Upper Queen St in Belfast, Stix and Stones City Centre is a steak house at number 44-46 where diners can cook their own steak at the table on a hot stone, an optional choice. All steaks are dry aged for 28 days, so the stone is an extra way to finish the meat rather than a requirement. The tomahawk is among the cuts offered for stone cooking, and hand cut chips with dressing come alongside. Seafood has a place on the menu too, with sea bass for those who would rather skip the steak. Tables of more than 5 people cook their steak on the stone at the table, which suits a group sharing the same experience.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often come for cooking steak at the table on a hot stone, with one reviewer describing a Tomahawk where every bite stays sizzling hot. Close behind is the food generally, with the hand cut chips with dressing, sea bass and the cheesecake singled out, one calling the cheesecake the best they have had. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, with one server praised for explaining how to cook the steaks on the stones. A few trade-offs come up. One reviewer says the restaurant is quite smoky and that smoke lingers in hair and clothes. Another found that tables of more than five must cook on the stone, and a partner who likes steak very overcooked could not eat it because the stone cooled too quickly. A kitchen problem led to a longer wait for one table, and the owner apologised and gave free desserts.

“Had a super experience at Stix and Stones Belfast. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed the whole experience of cooking the steaks at the table. A special mention to Jack, who was so friendly, welcoming and professional. He was excellent at explaining how to cook our steaks perfectly on the hot stones and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Great food, great atmosphere, great craic with the staff and brilliant service. We’ll definitely be back!”

“One of the best steaks I’ve had. The food was spot on and the menu had good diversity. Staff was friendly and kept an eye for us. The ambiance in this restaurant was somewhat upscale but relaxed enough. I’d say clean casual wear or closer to business wear. Clean facilities too.”
