Customer Review Summary

Cocktails draw the warmest praise, with one reviewer recommending the Southern Winds "a million times", another singling out a margarita, and a third getting an off-menu Vesper Martini made by a senior mixologist. One lapsed regular misses the Punch and Rudy drink. Close behind are the opulent decor with its leopard print and food called exquisite and incredible, including the sparkling afternoon tea. Individual hosts and servers are described as kind and knowledgeable. Service is the recurring complaint. Reviewers describe a table of four waiting far too long for a first drink, queuing at one of two bars to order and collect their own cocktails with no napkins or water, and standing at the front unacknowledged while staff walked past. Others felt rushed, with mains arriving before starter plates were cleared. Several call it expensive for the service, and one doubted the reserved tables were real. One party was told to free their table within the hour because of overlapping bookings, and a manager discounted their drinks and part of the meal.

“Niall was the best host! He couldn’t have been more attentive and kind. We booked for drinks and after we left and went to dinner we decided to come back because of his hospitality. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks. Paolo made an amazing margarita! We actually tried to get him every time in the queue for the bar 😅 Anto was also an amazing host and some great recommendations for us 🩷 will definitely recommend to a friend xo”

“A sombre return to a place I haven’t visited for around a year, and unfortunately, it seems things have changed considerably. The biggest disappointment was the staff. There was very little sense of engagement or hospitality, with staff appearing far more interested in discussing when they could take their next break than in looking after the customers in front of them. It created an atmosphere that felt strangely detached from what should be a welcoming bar. The real killer, however, was the menu. Please bring back Punch and Rudy! That drink was genuinely memorable and was one of the highlights of my previous visits. I also have to mention the two gentlemen who were working during my previous visits. Sadly, I can’t remember their names, and I don’t know whether they have left or whether it simply wasn’t their night, but they made a huge difference to the experience. They had personality, enthusiasm and actually made the bar feel like somewhere you wanted to spend time. It’s disappointing to return after a year and feel that something has been lost. The drinks can be good, but hospitality is what makes people come back. Bring back Punch and Rudy, and bring back some of that old atmosphere too.”

“Did the sparkling afternoon tea experience with a group of 5. Everything was okay, the food was incredible and they did put a veggie option on for us last minute (it was only a small veggie sausage roll though) but the front of house service was quite slow/non existent. No one came to ask for any more drinks or to check on the table etc for at least an hour and an half and next booking cards were thrown onto the tables as soon as we sat down. I found it all very over priced in all for the service you get and the tiny glass of Prosecco you get with the afternoon tea menu. Would recommend getting the traditional afternoon tea and adding a bottle of Prosecco. Would recommend to go due to the food being so good but be prepared to chase your drinks and bill. One person needs to manage and direct all staff to ensure everyone is enjoying the experience and make service more smooth, it was just a bit chaotic.”

“Went this afternoon about 5pm and the waitress kindly got us a table for drinks. Lots of reserved tables - but no-one actually at them. Not sure if all the ‘reservations’ are real - or just for effect. Atmosphere and decor is amazing - very warm and welcoming. However service was appalling. Lovely staff - but took 45 mins to get a drink for a table of 4. And then another 10mins to get the bill as we weren’t going to stay to wait for so long to get another drink. Maybe a place for some…but none of us will be back.”
