About Nickys Deli & Bistro

Nickys Deli & Bistro builds its menu around wraps, working as a café and bistro at 196-198 Kingsway in Belfast, with breakfast, brunch and lunch all served. The wrap list runs from a breakfast wrap to a buffalo wrap and a crispy chicken Caesar, each plated with thick crispy chips. Tables are taken on a walk-in basis, so there is no need to book ahead. Trading runs Tuesday to Saturday during the daytime, with the doors shut on Mondays and Sundays. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without a kerb or stair to manage, and high chairs are on hand for families eating with young children. Orders can also go out for delivery, which suits anyone wanting the same food at home or at a desk.

Customer Review Summary

Wraps lead the praise here, from a breakfast wrap with onions and cheese to a buffalo wrap and a Crispy Chicken Caesar Wrap, often served with thick crispy chips or a generous side of fries. Reviewers describe food that is fresh, tasty and served hot, in generous portions, with huge pancakes and the house coffee also singled out. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, one reviewer calls the place spotless, and several point to consistency. The main complaints concern the male owner. Two reviewers describe him as aggressive and rude to a customer over a trivial dispute. One says he shouted at the customer and banged the door, and alleges the customer was treated this way as an ethnic minority. The other says they will not be back. A separate reviewer finds the delivery driver sour and silent, without a simple thank-you. Even so, one regular says the kitchen always makes the small changes they request to an order.

“Food is always spot on. Like the consistent standard. Breakfast wrap with onions and cheese is my fave. Good portions. Cooked perfectly. I sometimes make little changes on my order and they always do them. Some places don't read the notes. Food comes promptly and is fresh. Every time. We always get from here. Tried a good few places & by far the best in Dunmurry. Edit: we went INTO shop for a change from delivery. Busy. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Chips were delish...no pics we scoffed them! V clean. Food came fast. Pancakes are HUGE. No pics...they got mauled! Delicious. Well worth a visit. Easy parking behind shop.”

“I had been once before and it seemed ok. Food & the servers had been nice. However the last time I was there; the male owner was extremely aggressive, threatening and rude to a customer over what seemed so trivial. Seems like an unpleasant individual whose demeanour looms large over the place - maybe a security role in a nightclub would be a better fit for him. We won't be back as a result of his actions.”

“The food from nickys is always really nice, but on a few occasions I've had deliveries the driver is always sour, never says anything, like a simple thank-you or enjoy your food would be nice, to be honest if he smiled his face would crack.”

“Dropped in to this quite busy bistro. Enjoyed a tasty buffalo wrap with a generous side of fries. Had the house coffee brewed to perfection. Extremely friendly staff. Highly recommend, will be back to try something different the next time from the extensive menu which has something for everyone.”
