Customer Review Summary
Salt and pepper squid is the dish reviewers name most, usually alongside the Panang or beef curry, spring rolls and the sticky chicken, with diners calling the food delicious and full of flavour. Close behind is the decor, with its floral touches and domed archway, which reviewers describe as stunning and beautiful. Several praise attentive, friendly servers who guided them toward dishes, and one couple was surprised with an anniversary dessert plate from the manager. Outdoor seating in the sunshine gets a mention too. One reviewer found the curry a bit watery, and another called the service a bit slow. The sharpest complaint comes from a group of nine whose pre-booked table was not ready. They were seated late, found the man serving them rude when they asked about the table, and were offered no compensation, which forced them to cancel plans for drinks elsewhere.

“We are big fans of Giggling Squid in Bath, and have visited for dinner on all of our trips to the city. The decor is absolutely beautiful and creates a magical atmosphere. On this occasion we received excellent service from Elisabetta. I had the vegetable spring rolls and a Panang curry and my husband had the salt & pepper squid and the sticky chicken. Both of our meals were delicious. We look forward to returning in the future and trying more of the menu!”

“This was the best thing we ate in bath! In this Giggling Squid, there is outdoor and indoor seating. We sat inside and was not disappointed by the atmosphere and vibe . The decor was stunning and so pretty -I borrowed a few ideas for my own home ! The menu had plenty of choice with being reasonably priced in my opinion. All of our dishes were flavourful ,although the server did say the curry was a bit watery and she was right 😂I thought the sauces were also a standout for the starters making the meal even better! The service was good and responsive with bringing us water and at the start even checking if there was any shade outside for us . Overall, this was such a good restaurant in Bath ,also in an amazing location right by the theatre and in walking distance to the baths and many other things ! Would recommend to anyone thinking about where to eat .”

“We visited Giggling Squid in Bath for a nice dinner, and we had an absolutely wonderful evening. The food was delicious and full of flavour, but what truly made our night special was the incredible hospitality. Our host, Elizabeth, took great care of us from the moment we arrived. She was warm, welcoming, and highly attentive throughout our meal. Her recommendations were absolutely spot on, guiding us toward some fantastic choices like the signature Salt & Pepper Squid and the incredibly flavourful Beef curry Between the beautiful floral atmosphere, the top-tier food, and Elizabeth’s lovely hosting, it was a memorable dinner. We will definitely be back!”

“We pre booked to eat here as a group of 9. When we arrived our table wasn’t ready. We sat and had drinks first, which took a while to come but the man who served us (who I think was the manager) was quite rude when we asked what time the table would be ready. We weren’t offered any compensation or real apologies for the lateness. We eventually were seated at our table more than 45 minutes late. Food was great, however it took quite a while from the time we turned up to the time we ate. We had booked to go for drinks elsewhere afterwards but had to cancel as we were so late. The girl who served us was lovely and very apologetic.”

“What a beautiful surprise as you enter this old building, it's well decorated and spacious. The food was well presented and delicious. Ben and the other team members were attentive but didn't hassle us. I would highly recommend the Giggling Squid. They also have a large outdoor area for a warm summer day.”
