Customer Review Summary
The carvery draws the most praise, with diners singling out fresh turkey and gammon, beef cooked well rather than overdone, crisp paprika roast potatoes and the crackling. Reviewers describe generous plates and quick service, and several call the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast comes next, notably a bacon and egg barm and a full breakfast, and one visitor enjoyed fish and chips with mushy peas. Several mention the recent refurbishment. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found no beef on offer and frozen Yorkshire puddings, said the sticky toffee pudding was neither sticky nor toffee, and was brought wine when soda was ordered. Another says the bed felt like sleeping on concrete. A guest avoiding gluten found no gluten free pizza, pasta or toast, and the leeks and cauliflower came in cheese sauce, though the gravy was gluten free. One diner found the gravy watery. One visitor asking about the nearby village of Oakley was pointed toward a short footpath walk instead of driving.

“Good establishment we stopped overnight on our way to Southampton. Clean, very pleasant staff, convenient, peaceful atmosphere. Spoilt by company policy of not having any specific gluten free products. Staff did their best, no gluten free pizza, pasta, bread for toast at breakfast. Carvery was good but vegetable choice limited as leeks and cauliflower were in cheese sauce and not gluten free. There was gluten free gravy. Breakfast option was porridge made in a pot. Husbands full breakfast was good and good value but if looking for gluten free avoid.”

“Booked for a carvery on a Sunday afternoon. Was seated very quickly, ordering food at the bar makes it more efficient. 3 meats on offer - Pork, Turkey, Beef. The beef was cooked really well wasnt over cooked which seems to be the norm for a carvery. Plenty of veg options which were all cooked well. Would love to see some parsnips or brocoli. 2 different roasties normal and Paprika. Nice and soft on the inside and a crunch on the outside. Lots of sauce options as well. I like thicker gravy so was a little watery for me but you cant 100% please everyone. Was still very tasty. The staff were all friendly and service was quick. The cracking was a massive high light for me 🤩”

“The inn was in top shape, the food— especially breakfast—delicious, and the service was attentive. A server, Reg, was quite helpful in acclimatizing me to the area and for delivering excellent service.”

“A great experience with excellent customer service from James and the team. Nicely refurbished with a well thought out and large accessable toilet. My only suggestion would be a slight reorganisation of the tables to allow clear access to the accessable toilet for a wheelchair user without having to disturb peoples dinner and ask them to stand to make room. Thanks for a lovely meal and great experience.”

“Best carvery I have ever had here, fast, friendly staff, quick munch, newly refurbished, took my friend here who had just flown over and he said it was a real treat. Definitely worth a visit. Like heinz tomatoe soup like what it says on the tin. Enjoy and keep the smiles and reviews going. Long live the Beach Arms xx This is the 2nd visit in two days, Barry and Nikki were so kind and helpful and the the food was absolutely lovely yet again. 10 out 10 thank you. This is two reviews in one and the man on the bar was also tip top. All staff were friendly and lovely. Nice music and lovely refurbishment.”
