Customer Review Summary

Seafood is the main draw, with reviewers pointing to the raw oysters and the fresh scallops with vermicelli, minced beef and garlic in a soy broth. Close behind are the lobster dishes, including Sichuan pepper lobster and cheesy lobster, along with cheese crab with toast, which one diner found new and delicious. Others single out the homemade wontons, the hot and sour, and salt chilli chips and chicken. Several with allergies or gluten intolerance describe a menu clearly marked gluten free and staff who went above and beyond. Reviewers call the food fresh and made from scratch, and a few describe a family-run place where the owner and chef offered recommendations. The recurring drawbacks are practical: limited room to eat in, a little wait when it is busy at weekends, and one diner who found prices a little higher than expected, though the group of four felt it was not bad after all. Takeaway diners mention being handed complimentary prawn crackers.

“Went to LiLi based on other reviews that I had seen recommending them for thier care around allergens, and they weren't wrong. I had a lovely warm welcome greeting and had the choice of take away or sat in. I opted for takeaway. I informed them of my allergies and diet needs, peanut allergy, gluten intolerance and lactose intolerance. The amount of things I could order on the menu I was super excited. They went above and beyond for me. There was a wait for the food, however that food was cooked from scratch, you could tell it was fresh and cooked with care. I loved all the dishes I ordered which included Honey bbq ribs, egg fried rice, salt chilli chips, duck in plum sauce and Irish mushrooms, i even recieved complimentary prawn crackers. I can't recommend this place enough, I will happily travel to keep coming back to this chinese.”

“I arrived hungry and tired and left feeling heard and fed. I haven't had a Chinese takeaway in over 6 months, they had a brilliant gluten free menu. Everything clearly marked GF on what we recieved. I decided to play it safe and go for fried rice and salted chilli chicken! Let's just say for my first chinese in ages it was incredible. They even surprised me with prawn crackers, which I thought oh I should've ordered. Thank you! This made me smile :)”

“Honestly the best Chinese in Bangor. Food turns up proper hot every time and the flavours are unreal. You can tell it’s made fresh. The homemade wontons are on another level — ordered them to share and that plan lasted about 10 seconds 😂 Absolutely class.”

“A good Chinese in central Bangor. Their food is very good and the hot and sour is excellent. There is limited room to eat in the restaurant so normally I would get a carry-out. It can be busy, particularly at the weekends, so it can mean a little wait. The staff are pretty good and I would recommend if you are in Bangor.”
