Customer Review Summary
The American breakfast is the most singled out dish, with one reviewer praising its pancakes and a vanilla latte alongside it. Lunch earns credit too, including a chicken club sandwich, a ham and cheese toastie and kids' cheese burgers, and several call the value reasonable. Reviewers describe friendly staff, quick service, clean toilets and a relaxed atmosphere, and one has travelled over 30 miles for breakfast or lunch. The Ulster fry draws the complaints. One reviewer found the bread and sausage poor quality, while another got dried, overcooked sausages and an egg that missed the requested soft yolk, and called it dearer than nearby competitors. One longtime customer reports a cook reacted angrily when she declined scrambled eggs heavily seasoned with black pepper, which her post-hospital diet ruled out. Another reviewer reports his wife fell in a drain outside the door and that the manager offered bandages but little other help. Still, one regular loves visiting at Christmas, when the place is well decorated and the staff dress festively.

“Visited after a family trip to Bangor. 2 adults and 2 kids. We weren't really hungry but wanted a snack. We ended up stopping here and getting a early dinner because the food looked great. Chicken club sandwich, ham and cheese toastie, 2 cheese burgers and chips for kids, 2 milkshakes and 2 buns...couldn't believe the price. Brilliant value. Food was decent. Will definitely come back when in the area.”

“Stopped in at The Pit Stop in Bangor, expecting the culinary equivalent of a roadside hostage situation. Instead, I got cracking food, decent portions, a place so clean you could probably perform surgery on the table, and staff who were genuinely friendly. It almost makes you question your life choices. You spend years believing every grim stereotype, then somewhere like this comes along and ruins it by being actually good. It just proves not every bin's on fire in Belfast. Some places are too busy serving proper grub to feature on the six o'clock news. If you're passing through Bangor, give it a go. You'll leave full, happy, and mildly annoyed that your low expectations weren't justified.”

“We've eaten here often for absolutely years I will never be back through the door after today, I'm only recently out of hospital having been very ill and on a strict diet until I heal, I asked for simple scrambled eggs which I've had a twice recently with no issues at all, until today. Gordon made them and decided to add lots of black pepper, which I cannot eat, upon it being set down in front of me I asked was that black pepper all through it, he said yes, I said I'm sorry I can't eat that, clearly disgusted in me he took my plate away and proceeded to berate me and shout to the kitchen staff that "she doesnt like pepper!!" and how they were the best eggs he'd ever made, that among many other loud statements he made about the eggs, all of which I heard, I was completely cut to the bone, no need for it at all..”
