  “Food was delicious. I had crispy chicken to start and honey chilli chicken for main. Batter was really light and nice and crispy. Honey chilli sauce was really good too, with nice big portions! Chocolate cake for dinner was just like any other cake - chocolatey and full of calories! My wife wasn’t the biggest fan of the carbonara as it had lots of big chicken chunks and scallions, which isn’t usually in a proper carbonara. Would still recommend, good value and a nice location.”

  “Was very busy when we went. Food was good overall although veg was a bit bland most likely due to the numbers eating on boxing day so possibly just boiled simply. Service was good especially given how busy they were. I'd go back and hope it was a bit quieter and perhaps improved food experience.”

  “I have often visited the Bryansburn Inn. The food is consistently excellent. Portions are generous and pricing is reasonable. The menu is sufficiently wide ranging with something for everyone. Friendly staff provide great service and on the rare occasion of a problem it is resolved quickly and without fuss. I highly recommend.”

  “Having been here a number of times and found the food good, portions on the larger size and service excellent, on this occasion I found the standard of the food being presented has dropped off. We ate off the lunch special which is served between 12 and 6pm and is good value. To start, battered mushrooms, they were served dripping in oil, consequently they were overbearing and I only managed two before being put off. My other half had deep fried brie, usually the cheese is runny, not this time, which set us up for two disappointing starters. Mains comprised of an 8oz sirloin steak, chips, mixed veg, onion/mushrooms on top and a boat of pepper sauce. Some of the chips were not cooked right through, the peppers sauce was watery, otherwise the rest was good, unfortunately the aforementioned ruined the mains experience. Not sure if this place has changed hands but it's not as good as it was, next time I'll drive on round to the Crawfordsburn Inn”

  “Service staff were polite, friendly and professional. Dishes were filling and delicious, could not fault them! I had the lasagna and the hot chocolate fudge cake, I highly recommend them both and would come back here for sure!”

  “Didn't want the formality of restaurant dining, so opted for lunch in the lounge bar. The setting was warm and comfortable, if you don't mind horse racing on the big screen TV. Service was good and the menu adequate. I opted for the chicken stack with a side of skinny fries and my partner the 10oz sirloin with garlic potatoes. The portions were excellent and the food was of a good quality. My partners eyes were bigger than her tummy and couldn't finish hers, so you'll be glad to hear they will box up what you don't eat so you can take it home. I soldiered on and decided on dessert, for which I chose lemon cheesecake with ice cream, however, the waiter was distracted and I got fresh cream which at the end of the day I didn't mind, so no complaints, and it was beautiful served with fresh berries and honeycomb. Together with a large glass of wine for the lady and a pint of coke the bill came to a little over £60. Hadn't been here in years, but would recommend it for a lazy lunch followed by a few bevvies for those who want to make an afternoon of it.”

  “First time back here in 5 years. The ambience is not great tbh with decor that seems to date from the 70s. I hear Retro is the new fad though, so I suppose that will be trendy soon enough. On a Saturday it definately attracted an older crowd and many were clearly regulars as were known to the staff. Nothing dated about the food. There was a good choice on the menu, and it was really, really good. Decent portions and beautifully cooked. At least 2 of these 4 Stars goes to the kirchen. Staff were professional and friendly too!”
