  “This is my first time ever trying Cathay Square. I had read a lot of the reviews that were overwhelmingly negative, and I’ll be honest in saying that it almost put me off ordering, but I decided not to trust them and go for it. I’m so glad I did. I ordered the food at 5:50, and received my order at 6:30, the delivery driver was a friendly enough bloke and now I’ll get to the food. Ordered Salt and Chilli Chicken, Salt and Chilli chips, Noodles and Kung Po Crispy Beef. They were all great. I cannot fault the food what so ever. The price was good and I have to say that despite the bad reviews, I will definitely be back!”

  “Unfortunately first time trying this Chinese and won’t be back. Overpriced (a snack type box containing two chicken balls, two sausages and some chips and a portion of fried rice cost almost £20!). Id expect an order like that is pretty standard for a Chinese and you couldn’t go far wrong but it was pretty much inedible. Sausages pink inside with black bits all the way through, very off putting and couldn’t even bring myself to try them. Prob at least 3/4 of the rest of the meal went in the bin, just wasn’t nice at all”

  “Well, out of all of the Chineses in Ballyclare this one has been the one I’ve used the least, but I’ve tried a few orders at each so feel I can review fairly at this point. OK. So the portion sizes were great, looked like a very well packed out box of rice, and the plastic carton contain what they called Szechuan chicken had massive chunks of properly cooked chicken in it, but I’ll be honest - I’m not sure what that sauce was but it wasn’t Szechuan. It was bland, sticky, gingery substance, with maybe 2 tiny slivers of green pepper in it. Every other time I’ve had this meal from other restaurants it’s had green peppers, chilli peppers, onions and a sweet spicy sauce that would blow your head off. It’s unusual for it to not want to set fire to your face, starting at your lips - but not this version - this very wants you to apply to the Oxford English Dictionary to have the words boring and bland redefined and replaced with a photo of this meal. For the cost of £9.50 you’d kind of think they’d know what they’re preparing but seemingly not. Again, portion size was superb, but that’s were the enjoyment ended. Sadly it seems that even though their closest competitor “imperial kitchen” about 100m does smaller portions…. it does seem like their meals are the closest to genuine flavours as you’ll get.”

  “Absolutely beautiful food ! Even during the may fair event this Chinese went out of there way to make sure we got our food which we live quite a distance from the place. Decent charge on delivery in comparison to the rest. Food was Absolutely delicious and would order time and time again. This is the second time in 2 weeks we got from here and I can honestly say could not fault it !”

  “Just done a order on just eat, arrived with my daughters meal missing. I rang and they promptly brought what I thought was the missing meal. Nope it was something that we had already received. Had this of been an adult I would have made do but it was for my autistic daughter who likes what she likes that's it. I rang the shop and was told they wouldn't be correcting it they were too busy and I could get the item free another time! Shocking attitude honestly can't believe a someone would run a business that way !”
